From my experience thus far this year it is SO dependent on crazy intangible things. Roommate and I have similar grades, similar backgrounds but I have a large (I think in comparison to others) number of CBs and roommate has a small number.
Definitely agree with this. I feel like I am underperforming given grades/the firms that preselected me, but it's possible that bad interviewing/lack of WE/whatever else is coming into play. At least earlier last week, there were a bunch of people in these threads in the 3.5 range who were worried about having only 1-3 CBs. I still haven't heard of anyone who's not LR having say, 5+ CBs, but as others have mentioned, this could just be because it's easier for such students to lose anonymity, and not everyone is on TLS.
Not on LR, 3.5ish, have 5+ CBs. Right about the anonymity so trying to keep quiet, as well as I would never want to make others more worried/feel bad about their own # of callbacks.

Are most people who are underperforming heavy on DC? I am 2/15 for DC firms, but 2/3 in secondary markets (even without any sort of connection to the market).

Know several non-LR (and not particularly close) with 8+.

Are they NY or DC? Those two markets seem particularly tough to crack this year.

Original anon at 7:55 here. Yeah, should have clarified. What I meant was I didn't know anyone with those numbers/stats who was targeting all/primarily major markets. Some of us don't have strong ties to secondaries, which makes it all the more difficult.

10:35 anon. Yes, one of those two markets.

ETA: Not trying to make people feel bad or anything, but those reading this thread should know that there are a number of non-LR people doing extremely well.

+1. Similar situation, non-LR grades, double digit callbacks in NY/DC. I would attribute pretty much all of that to lots of interview prep and practice... so to future 2Ls reading this thread prepare prepare prepare is my biggest advice.

I know that (at least some) callbacks have gone out for Jones Day, Andrews Kurth, and Jackson Walker Dallas. I have no knowledge of Houston.
I received a snail mail ding from JW Houston. I did them through OTIP though.
