Re: DOJ SLIP
I'm the EOIR offer poster and it is accurate. I an email very shortly after i turned in my app asking for geographic preferences and writing sample. I received a second email requesting a writing sample, etc. again (which was strange). A reference notified me that they were contacted sometime around the 11th and i got an offer last week.
EOIR offers are made by location, so they may be doing things on different timelines.

EOIR people: what is the exit plan for that? I suspect you have a great chance at one of the 1-2 year fellowships, but then what? Hope ICE is hiring? Immigration solo? something I'm not thinking of?

BOP finalists: if you did not receive a pre-employment interview after being named a finalist, then you are an alternate.

Re: DOJ SLIP
"Finally! An update!" I thought as I opened this thread. "Maybe someone finally has a verifiable offer or has some new information that we hitherto did not have!" As I scrolled through the posts I have reread so many times now, my anticipation grew until I got to the post and found only "." The months-long sojourn through the tundra of the DOJ hiring process has been replete with raised hopes and then shattered dreams. I pray to the OARM gods to bring us some news or give us a sign letting us know that we are either employed for the summer or will need to buy a bottle of Beam before the weekend.Anonymous User wrote:.

Re: DOJ SLIP
I just spoke with someone at the EOIR and they said that there are three components within the EOIR which made selections - the office of the chief immigration judge, the office of general counsel, and the administrative office. Only the office of the chief immigration judge required the geographic preferences sheet. I'm not sure if that helps anyone. It seems like there aren't many people around here anymore

Re: DOJ SLIP
I have it on good authority that all Antitrust offers have been made. If you are a finalist then it's now a matter of hoping not all offers are accepted.

Well, I guess here is to hoping that not all offers are accepted. Do you know what the deadline to accept is?

Re: DOJ SLIP
People have 28 days to accept or reject an offer. Based on good information, I think all slots are filled.Anonymous User wrote:Well, I guess here is to hoping that not all offers are accepted. Do you know what the deadline to accept is?

Re: DOJ SLIP
Uhhh. I got a job offer (which I accepted) back in early October from Civil, but I just got an e-mail from Avue saying I wasn't offered a spot in Civil but good luck in your future career etc etc. I e-mailed Civil back just to make sure everything was still okay, but has anyone else had this happen to them?

Some employers interview many and select few; others interview few and hire most. What is the general consensus with a USAO interview invitation? (for a 1L)

Has anyone heard anything since December? Second round offers? Rejections of alternates?
If you are an alternate and haven't heard anything are you just waiting for a rejection?

Re: DOJ SLIP
Anyone know when they let the alternates know that they didn't get a position?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
