I have seen the number 65% thrown around. I will let you know if I find out where I heard this from.Guchster wrote:Does anyone know how common it is to get offers to return after 0L?

Re: SEO Corporate Law
It looks like the 75% full-time offer rate was for the entire SEO program (Investment Banking, Asset Management, etc.). Nicole Smith does not give a percentage for the corporate law program alone. I wonder if this success rate is mirrored in the corporate law program.Pray88 wrote:dc1s wrote:I have seen the number 65% thrown around. Re: SEO Corporate Law
I would assume its a bit more complicated for the law program. You cant really get a "full-time" offer after your internship because you still have to go through three years of law school. I think a better question to ask would be "How many SEO Corporate Law interns are asked to return during their 1L summer?"dc1s wrote:It looks like the 75% full-time offer rate was for the entire SEO program (Investment Banking, Asset Management, etc.). Given what I've heard so far and the training SEO provides I would guess it's a high percentage.

Re: SEO Corporate Law
From what I have been told by alumni, it varies a lot by firm. Some firms invite pretty much everyone back for 1L summer while some dont invite any back (at least not seperately from the overall 1L job search/interview process).dc1s wrote:I have seen the number 65% thrown around. If you need any information, please directly contact your SEO recruiter/ interviewer that you have been in correspondence with.

This message board ended badly yesterday, really badly. Note the deleted posts. I think they were deleted for a reason.
So, any rejected seo applicants care to share their alternate summer plans?

Re: SEO Corporate Law
For the new class (JD 2015) you guys should really do this. I think they are already having information sessions. I know for sure they have one in the Boston Area coming up and I know of some other dates in other parts of the country. If you get it not only can you (possibly) sew up a 1L position in a firm, but you can actually see if corporate law is for you. Plus you get paid pretty good for the summer and they have various locations including NYC, Houston, San Fran, Palo Alto and D.C.

Re: SEO Corporate Law
So SEO wants you to upload your law school essay on their application. I actually wrote about how I'm very interested in public interest law, but I definitely want to apply to this corporate law internship to see what it's like. Does anyone think this is going to decrease my chances of getting in or should I just write a different essay that isn't as public interest centered? Thanks.
EDIT: How important is this picture? Should I throw on a shirt and tie and get a picture done at CVS or something?

Re: SEO Corporate Law
We didn't have to do the essay thing last year, I don't think. But I think they do want people who are genuinely interested in corporate law. I know people who were dinged because it was obvious they had no desire to do corporate law and just wanted to make some quick cash before law school. And about the picture, c'mon man this is a job opportunity. Why not do as much as you can just to be sure. Putting on a shirt and tie is not that much work. It might not matter, but if it made you think about it, why even take a chance?Sh@keNb@ke wrote:So SEO wants you to upload your law school essay on their application.
