Yeah. I had a phone interview a few weeks back, but haven't heard anything about scheduling an in-person one.Anonymous User wrote:DHS secretary's honor? I did that as well and haven't heard back. I'm not sure if it is for a field office. It is at a field office, but unclear if they're interviewing for that office, or for HQ.Anonymous User wrote:Congrats! Would you mind specifying which field office?Anonymous User wrote:Same.Anonymous User wrote:HUD (field office) Interview scheduled

To all the law school prospects and students hoping to head to government, I would be looking for other options right now. Trump has stated he would institute hiring freezes for agencies if elected.

Got a call at 7:15am (-_____-) for my interview with HUD!
Does anyone know how the interview process works? I was called by another field office in my state, even though there is a field office in my hometown. Is there any significance to that? Or is it just a general interview process and then they place you based on tract and region preference?
Also, I noticed some people got a call yesterday afternoon. I'm in the southeast, anyone else?

Honestly, I would caution you all to be very very careful. The uncertainty in the federal government is real right now.

I have a feeling CFPB is done for.
I may be better off exploring other options out there...clerkships, fellowships, private firms, if possible.

Pretty sure they're general at this point, esp if you selected HQ on the application. I'm under the impression that they place people as needed and you get to move around a bit to find your spot.Anonymous User wrote:The person who called me to schedule my interview said it is just a general interview.rab12092 wrote:Got a call at 7:15am (-_____-) for my interview with HUD!

Yep, just general. They try to interview at locations closest to the applicant when possible, but move around as need (too many people too close to that particular office or a bias) and then attempt to place based on preference if selected for employment.

Thoughts on potential Honors Programs whose hiring might be affected by Trump's vague/looming "hiring freezes"?
