I'm guessing yes, but can't say for sure. They offered an interview but I declined without getting to the stage where they mentioned any specific groups.Anonymous User wrote:Is Fenwick looking for corporate? TYIA!Anonymous User wrote:Weil now advertising on Symplicity for Lit, Corp, Bankruptcy.

Re: 3L OCI
Do you approach 3L screeners/CBs any differently than you did as a 2L gunning for an SA position?
I am a rising 3L with an offer from the v50 firm that I summered at but the offer is not in the practice group I am interested in so I lined up some screeners/CBs with other firms to see if I can land anything. What kind of questions do you ask interviewers as a 3L interviewing for an associate position as opposed to a 2L interviewing for an SA position? Also, do firms ask the same type of questions to 3Ls (i.e. a lot of more 'casual' talk about interests outside of law, etc.)?
Thanks.

Re: 3L OCI
I don't know about the other questions, but I can answer this one. Between 2L and 3L interviews, interviewers have asked me similar questions (except for certain questions that apply only to my weird situation). I think firms expect 3Ls (1) to be more "polished" and (2) to intelligently articulate a specific practice interest.Anonymous User wrote:Also, do firms ask the same type of questions to 3Ls (i.e. a lot of more 'casual' talk about interests outside of law, etc.)?

As an international student who didn't work at a firm and needs work visa sponsorship, I just want to give up after having had a few 3L screeners. Good grades at a T10, but feel like those aren't helping at all.

I did that awhile ago when I mass mailed, and just got an auto reply to use the firm's online application system. You should just apply directly on Weil's website under the Careers section.Anonymous User wrote:Could try the person listed on NALP?Anonymous User wrote:who's the recruiting contact on the weil office?

Hmm, are you talking about the recruit@weil.com email address? I meant the person listed as Associate Director, Legal Recruiting. Their email is easily found on the firm's website.Anonymous User wrote:I did that awhile ago when I mass mailed, and just got an auto reply to use the firm's online application system. I'm always wary of online applications because there's a pretty good chance your materials will never be viewed by an actual human being. (As opposed to mass mailing. Ha?

Re: 3L OCI
I just got a rejection from one of the two firms I interviewed with at OCI. I thought it went really well.
One part rejection, four parts silence, zero parts positive on the mass-mailing front.
Jesus take the wheel.

I just got a callback from Davis Polk NY. But I feel like it can't be correct. At a t25, top 33%. I don't know what's going on, but I pray this isn't a sick joke.

Stuff like this can happen with 3L hiring. Firms realize they are going to need 'x' number of associates to join their a certain group (usually corporate) in addition to those from the summer class. However, most biglaw-bound t14 students are sticking with their SA firm.Anonymous User wrote:I just got a callback from Davis Polk NY. But I feel like it can't be correct. At a t25, top 33%. although in previous threads, davis polk seems to not be too grade selective so im not shocked (i.e. a soft 3.5 floor apparently)
