What's the consensus on thank you notes for your interviewers?

I was in last year's application cycle, and am currently at DOJ. I had a panel interview for Honors. I did send a thank you note, but only one (to the person who organized—and sat in on—my interview).Anonymous User wrote:What's the consensus on thank you notes for your interviewers?
Best of luck!

Would you happen to be in the Tax or Trustee Division. If so, could I PM you if I left you my name?Anonymous User wrote:I was in last year's application cycle, and am currently at DOJ. Re: DOJ Honors Program 2014-15
Does anyone know if we really need to fax? Scheduling my interview has been like pulling teeth. I FINALLY got my flight information last Thursday (yes, after "all interviews had been scheduled"), and still never received my fax (even though I called and emailed everyone I was supposed to). However, today, I did get an email from the Division I'm interviewing with and I have information on how to get into the building and where to go. Anyone with a fax (which, I expect, is every single other person), what info is on there that I might need, and should I really bother to call everyone again tomorrow and the next day, and the next day (as that seems to be the protocol for me)?

Fax only has your time schedule and plane tickets. Not very important if you have those already.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know if we really need to fax? I was in last year's cycle and am at DOJ now. I sent handwritten notes to each of the 3 people on my panel.Anonymous User wrote:What's the consensus on thank you notes for your interviewers?

Whelp. That was not my finest interview, to say the least. Best of luck to everyone else, though.

I learned it's hard to get a cab in Cleveland. Mine never showed up at my hotel, so I was running to get to my interview, and my skirt split up the back. Fortunately, I was early, so I tracked down a needle and thread with the Secretary to the First Assistant and was able to MacGyver that thing in the ladies' room before my interview. Then I told my interviewers. I was proud of myself.seizmaar wrote:please provide pointers and lessons learned if you feel comfortableAnonymous User wrote:Whelp. Something about interviewing there seems to inspire bad luck. I had all kinds of travel problems when I went. The good news is that if we all have problems, it all evens out?

Haha, yeah! That wasn't the only thing to go wrong during my interview there. The fire alarm went off in the middle of one of my interview rounds.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:I learned it's hard to get a cab in Cleveland. Has anyone interviewing for Tax (either Civil or Criminal) had their references contacted yet?

For those with references contacted, did the calls come yesterday or today?

Another question: for those with references contacted, did your references just tell you afterward that they had been called?

Neither. Friday, October 31st.Anonymous User wrote:For those with references contacted, did the calls come yesterday or today?
Yes. My reference emailed me to tell me about both requests, including that one of my interviewers indicated that they were in the "final stages" of selection.Anonymous User wrote:Another question: for those with references contacted, did your references just tell you afterward that they had been called?
