Are your grades on the bubble?
I am constantly on the bubble, tiny bit above median. I kind of just signed up for anything open in a market I am not averse to checking out, most of them are regionalish firms and a few huge firms in random places.

I don't know how to drop either, if anyone does please post.

So I understand why W&C still has open interview slots but why does Latham? It's DC and NY offices still have 2 slots open and other offices have more. Am I missing something here?

When I tried to sign up for the Latham spots, it said they weren't available. I'm skeptical there is actually a time conflict though.

Are the screeners understanding if you are late to a back to back?

How on-time does OCI run?

1. Had the same problem with Latham NY. Don't know what the deal is.
2. Why is Proskauer so popular? I know it's a good firm in NY, but there are a lot of great firms in NY. Is it because everyone thinks they are going to be a sports labor law agent person?
3. Just got an offer for 2L Big Law next summer. If this happened pre-OCI to anyone would you just coast or keep grinding to flesh out every possible big law opportunity? Good luck all!

I would still go through with OCI if I were you - you could try to get 2 offers and split your summer to maximize your chances of getting an offer. But I would be judicious during OCI. Please don't accept callbacks from firms you wouldn't accept an offer from, and reject unwanted offers right away rather than sitting on them, out of respect for your classmates.

I'm in the same situation and wondering if going through interviews is advisable, particularly since it would open up spots for other students. I also have the opportunity to split between the firm I worked at this summer and the firm that just gave me an offer.

Has anyone heard from any résumé collect firms? Anyone have any idea when they typically contact people?

Pretty much. It's also supposed to be a pretty relaxed environment.

Would you be 100% happy working there? If not, keep grinding, but don't take CB slots from other law students if you wouldn't take that firm over the one you already have an offer from.

Bidding Proskauer high is a trend that started at Columbia or NYU and spread to other schools. It's crazy popular there, so the collective wisdom was that you had to bid it at the top or you wouldn't get it. The trend spread to other schools thanks to TLS it seems. It makes sense at Duke because they only have 21 interview slots, are well-regarded in several practice areas, are more forgiving with GPA for such a well-regarded firm, and yea, sports bros.

Has anyone had success reaching out to firms they are waitlisted with for OCI?

How does one knows if they are waitlisted at a firm for OCI?

If you selected "opt in" for a firm, or if you bid on a firm 31-35 in the second round of bidding, I believe that puts you on their waitlist.

I dropped my Latham interview so that explains why they took someone from the waitlist.

Vinson & Elkins is pulling from the waitlist as well.

Has anyone heard anything regarding the usual duration between screener and being contacted for a callback?

Usually within 24 hours, but I have heard of callbacks as late as a week later
