It's likely dings are via silence or an email in a couple months. For 1L SA applications, I didn't get rejected until long after the spots were all filled.Anonymous User wrote:Are dings via letter?

Has anyone who has had a cb gotten a rejection, or does it seem like they're taking everyone they interview this early.

why do you ask? have you been waiting a while?Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone who has had a cb gotten a rejection, or does it seem like they're taking everyone they interview this early.
i think someone on this thread said they waited 2 business days; i know someone else who heard back in 2 actual days (cb on friday, call on monday). i have a cb but i don't know how long is a worrisome amount of time.

Has anyone not heard anything at all? Not even a confirmation email?
If so, please post about how long ago you submitted your application.

This is roughly 1/50th of the total "applications" you'll be doing in the next couple months and is one of the tougher gets. If they contact you, great. If not, relax and take heart that you won't be wearing the same casual outfit 3 consecutive days.

Applied last week to dc and get a confirmation email on Monday but no CB. Is that a bad sign? When should I hear that I got a cb?

There is not nearly enough information in this thread to come up with any conclusions beyond a few people have CBs. Some will get the e-mail, some will won't, and there won't be absolute consistency across offices. Just chill. It's still June for fuck's sake.

Seems like they are picking the "easy yes" applicants now and will work on the rest as the process moves alongFirst Offense wrote:There is not nearly enough information in this thread to come up with any conclusions beyond a few people have CBs. If it's "easy yes" then you'd expect everyone to have gotten an offer, yes? Anyone here have a CB and *not* get an offer shortly after?Br3v wrote:Seems like they are picking the "easy yes" applicants now and will work on the rest as the process moves alongFirst Offense wrote:There is not nearly enough information in this thread to come up with any conclusions beyond a few people have CBs. the issue is defining "shortly after" - it looks like 2 days is the magic number right now, but it may not be as time goes on.Anonymous User wrote:If it's "easy yes" then you'd expect everyone to have gotten an offer, yes? Re: Quinn Emanuel Hiring Timeline
This is jumping to conclusions. The CB happens because it is part of the hiring process; no matter what your resume looks like, you will not get an offer if the CB goes poorly. Thus you cannot expect everyone getting a CB to get an offer (otherwise why even do a CB?), and as has been said already, the sample size in this thread is much too small to draw any real conclusions.Anonymous User wrote:If it's "easy yes" then you'd expect everyone to have gotten an offer, yes? Source: I work for Quinn and met with candidates that got rejected for personality reasons last cycle despite stellar resumes (though I will acknowledge not meeting any candidates yet this cycle).

Re: Quinn Emanuel Hiring Timeline
Reading the thread from last year it seems like Quinn's following a similar schedule with a few exceptions. New York is moving relatively quickly (witness poster in Columbia EIP thread (not sure if this thread as well) who got called back with a 3.6x there about a week after sending in their stuff).
DC, by contrast, appears to be moving much more slowly--only person posting about a callback that anyone is seen is the one person earlier in this thread who was top 10% at HYS. Given what happened last year I'd expect DC won't be moving except for folks with resumes like that until early July at the very earliest, which is about when they started last year.
So, if your app has been in in NYC for two or three weeks and you haven't heard anything, then yes, that might be a soft ding. If it's been in that long for DC, on the other hand, you might not hear back for another two or three weeks even if they're going to give you a CB.

Has anyone gotten CBs/offers from both their first- and second-choice offices?

Can't answer the question for sure, but I listed two offices and only got a CB from one with no mention of the second. Also have a friend that is at HYS that put NY and one of the CA offices and had a CB in NY but hasn't heard anything from CA (and they are doing CBs in the second office).Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone gotten CBs/offers from both their first- and second-choice offices?
My instinct is that they're only gonna interview you once, and I think that's why they seem to be asking people to pick their top preference.

Plenty of people split between Quinn offices so some people MUST get multiple interviews, right?Anonymous User wrote:Can't answer the question for sure, but I listed two offices and only got a CB from one with no mention of the second. Did they not make you choose which office you want more? I had to give them a 1st and 2nd choice of offices.Anonymous User wrote:Can't answer the question for sure, but I listed two offices and only got a CB from one with no mention of the second. Re: Quinn Emanuel Hiring Timeline
I know somebody who's top 10% at a T10 doing a CB there this week. I have no idea if his/her situation is representative of the LA office's normal hiring time-frame though.KD35 wrote:Any clue on LA office from last year?Anonymous User wrote:Reading the thread from last year it seems like Quinn's following a similar schedule with a few exceptions.
