I haven't heard anything from JK. Not Charleston office though. Sorry.
On an unrelated matter, for those of you who know the WV market well:
Always advisable to take a Big 4 over smaller, like Kay/Bonasso/Farrell, etc?

Depends on what you want. What do you want to do with your career? What type of law?Anonymous User wrote:I haven't heard anything from JK. Not Charleston office though. Sorry.

On information and belief: Dinsmore is done for WV offices, Steptoe is done, Bowles is done, Spilman is done, Flaherty is done, Huddleston Bolen has made offers,
No idea about JK Charleston.

That I am not sure. I am trying to figure out some of the practice areas I am interested in.Anonymous User wrote:Depends on what you want. What do you want to do with your career? What type of law?Anonymous User wrote:I haven't heard anything from JK. Not Charleston office though. Sorry.

Would it be detrimental to take a respected mid/smaller WV firm over one of the big 4?

Detrimental? Not really sure what you mean.Anonymous User wrote:That I am not sure. Do you want to practice in WV? These firms are all quality firms. Kay, Bonasso, Huddleston, etc. all pay well for the area and practice high quality law. If by detrimental you mean you won't be able to lateral to another WV firm? I would say that's not true, since these firms tend to hire people away from each other quite often.

Re: West Virginia Legal Market
I guess I wouldn't term it "detrimental."
I don't have a problem practicing in WV, but I have family issues that may require me to relocate at some point.
Would it be easier to relocate with a big 4 versus one of the other firms? I think those firms you just mentioned are great firms with great people.
I guess what I am asking is this: if I am forced to relocate outside of the state because of family, would it be harder to with one of the smaller firms? Or no different than with the big 4?
Also, how are the big 4 in terms of return employment for 1ls/2ls versus the other firms? That question might be too broad.
