Don't remember the AP DC ding initials - but it was an email sent late-ish last night. Oh well.

I'm cautiously optimistic since no email ding and I figure those things are typically simultaneous...

Has anyone heard back yet from Friday interviews with NYC offices of Boies, Davis Polk, Kirkland, Patterson, or Skadden?
Also, any responses from Debevoise with interviewer C.A.?

I can confirm Davis Polk. Patterson said it's going to be a bit and I have not heard of anyone who got a call from Skadden.

Looks like it was an uneventful Saturday... until Monday, I guess?
Does NYU keep track of CB/offer ratios? I know CLS does. I ask only because it might help with scheduling.

Re: NYU EIW Callback Nonsense (Consolidated)
I'm sort of glad it was uneventful on here. One less day for me to bitch about how my phone isn't ringing. Haven't given up yet though. I'm convinced that, while the firms call the top candidates quickly, they hold out on other calls since they actually have to meet and discuss certain candidates who aren't as easy to decide on. Thus, I think we can expect a number of calls on Monday and Tuesday from firms that interviewed last week. Or perhaps I've just convinced myself of this as a way of coping with the fact that its not happening for me. Who knows. But at this point, I'm holding out hope.Anonymous User wrote:Looks like it was an uneventful Saturday... until Monday, I guess?

Since no one has reported any word from them, I think they're being slow and have not yet even started.Anonymous User wrote:Is Weil done? I haven't heard much out of them...
And I say this as someone who has gotten a CB from 5 of the 6 V10s that have already done interviews, missing only Weil. Doesn't necessarily mean I'll get a Weil CB, but it feels likely.

According to this thread calls have gone out. However, I spoke to someone at OCS who said that she hadn't heard of Skadden making any calls. I think the answer lies in between; there are probably still some partners who haven't sent out CBs.

Do we have to report to Career Services anywhere what callbacks we're getting? I thought they had mentioned that.
I only ask about Skadden because I have a high GPA (although a transfer) and thought my interview there was one of my best.

FYI, I got a call from someone in recruiting to set it up this morning. Didn't have availability until mid-Sep (I guess that's normal?).

Re: NYU EIW Callback Nonsense (Consolidated)
Yeah, that seems to be common. I think we're getting a little screwed by having a relatively late OCI (even though we're only a few days later than other schools). The vast majority of firms filled their August callback schedules before we even started getting callbacks. I only managed to get three callbacks scheduled in August (STB, DPW and MoFo), while some, like Kirkland, didn't have any available slots until the third week of September! Also, Skadden's online system allows you to select times that are not actually available, and then you have to call them back up and reschedule--not fun. Given that August 26th is supposed to be a designated NYU callback day for them, and I tried to schedule within minutes of getting a callback, it is really absurd that they had no spots left on that day. I suspect they filled it up with non-NYU students.
OCS should next year try to convince firms to hold open some callback spots for NYU students so that we don't end up doing most of our callbacks late. I do think Harvard and Yale insisting that callbacks finish early has guaranteed that we'll be doing callbacks very late in the season and may have weaker callback-to-offer ratios as a result. I'm considering bringing this up with OCS on Monday if I have a chance.
On Skadden, I think I'm the only one who has reported a callback from NYU so far, so it may be that only one interviewer did calls on Friday.
