Apply to the firm on the website and email the recruiters directly with resume/transcript. You can do massmail merge or just send substantially similar emails one by one. Until you've sent out 50-75 you probably won't start hearing positive results, so reach that critical mass and then keep going.Anonymous User wrote:Things haven't been going as well for me as I was hoping, so I'm going to start mass-mailing now (yes, yes, I know, I should have started weeks ago, but better late than never). Problem is, I'm not really sure how to proceed and OCS keeps telling me not worry about it until after their info session after classes start. Does anybody who has done it have any advice? Emailing a resume and a cover letter to every CLS/undergrad alum that I can find in non-EIP firms doesn't seem like it would be particularly effective nor an efficient use of my time. Should I send a feeler email first (something along the lines of "I'm considering applying to your firm, I was wondering if you could answer some questions that I have") or just go straight for the resume? I assume that I should also submit applications to the recruiting coordinator/hiring partner/whoever is listed on the website.

Mass mail ASAP. Switching the names/practice areas on your cover letter takes two minutes apiece.Anonymous User wrote:Things haven't been going as well for me as I was hoping, so I'm going to start mass-mailing now (yes, yes, I know, I should have started weeks ago, but better late than never). So just apply to as many firms as I can through their website? I shouldn't bother emailing alums?Anonymous User wrote:Apply to the firm on the website and email the recruiters directly with resume/transcript. Email recruiting and then follow up with any alums when you can. Most important thing is to apply.Anonymous User wrote:So just apply to as many firms as I can through their website? quoting this so someone who can give actual advice sees it—Anonymous User wrote:Can any 3Ls or associates chime in on S&C vs. Cleary for corp? Is this just a fit choice? I've posted a good number of cb/offer updates in the thread, so please don't yell at me for asking. Need the advice.
my impression is that S&C is a cut above Cleary for corp work
at that level I'd probably be more concerned about fit/quality of life than I would be about general reputation, though

Intl work may also be a consideration.... Interviewers at Cleary talked a lot more about that than S&C. I'm sure there is no dearth of intl opportunities at S&C but Cleary definitely emphasized it a lot more.

Yea aug 13 after eip. Had nice interviews but I guess selling myself on appellate without a 2nd cir clerkship lined up was a bit of a recruiting faux pasAnonymous User wrote:Last Wednesday meaning ten days ago?jbagelboy wrote:If WH means Wilmerhale, CB last wednesday, did not get an offer.Anonymous User wrote:Anybody interview with WH NY this week and hear back? I have a cb Tuesday and waiting to her back from another still too.
Still haven't heard back with like 5 from EIP. While I assume they're duds is there any chance?
