I lateraled from a V5 worried that I may eventually make less if compensation eventually hit bands where only some firms matched top of market…. but now I make more than my old firm and it’s hilarious. I hope Millbank jumps to V2.

I keep kosher so all of this talk about lobster is really funny to me. Also, you guys....eat that?? I guess that's probably what vegans say when I eat chicken but still. Looks like an alien bug.

Not entirely -- instead of matching $385k for Tier 3, it's a $370-385k range.

Sea bugs are weird and kinda gross, like most everything that comes from the ocean. But they’re very delicious.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:43 pmI keep kosher so all of this talk about lobster is really funny to me. Also, you guys....eat that?? You don't actually eat lobster. You skillfully pretend to so that the plebs at DPW see you can afford it.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:43 pmI keep kosher so all of this talk about lobster is really funny to me. A nice piece of salmon or sea bass is not gross tho. No weird tentacles or cooking it alive.tlsthrowaway1306 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 4:10 pmSea bugs are weird and kinda gross, like most everything that comes from the ocean. It really doesn't get better than the 15-20 year offerings from Ardbeg and Lagavulin. You would know this if you worked for MillionsintheBank so I assume you're a CravaTTTh lowlife drinking Dewar's.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:35 pmWhat is the POINT of a chill Friday soak without LOBSTER? And I bet with your non-market salary you only got BLENDED Scotch, or at best 12-YEAR-OLD SINGLE-MALT from some lame SPEYSIDE distillery while Chadwalader associates are downing bottle after bottle of 30-YEAR OLD ISLAY MALTS.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:31 pmI am literally sending this while sitting in a bath tub day drinking scotch having billed 1.1 hours today. But I still want my lobster.tlsthrowaway1306 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:14 pmI actually do agree that people are probably missing out on the impact of the marginal dollar increases. Each dollar more is another to invest/another that helps you get out of debt more quickly. Or that buys you another serving of lobster.
I will also say that I have an impression that things are cooling somewhat at my firm for the corp people. Lit is absolutely on fire though and putting up insane hours.

So, Cooley, Fenwick, Gunderson and Goodwin have all matched. WTF is WSGR waiting for? 215 is basically market in the Bay Area now. Loling at NYC V10 schmucks schlepping from their shoebox apartments in shitty weather to go in person to offices while getting paid under market. While Bay Area chads taking long leisurely mid-day lunches in perfect weather while WFH making 215k.

Chulent is just a stew. Not pretty but not weird.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 4:30 pmAnd what does chulent and kishke look like?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:43 pmI keep kosher so all of this talk about lobster is really funny to me. Kishke made from natural casing is pretty gross looking. Also it's delicious. Good equivalent to lobster I guess. But most Kishke is just stuffing in loaf form. Like stew, boring but hearty.

The Cali firms are also being flexible on WFH, in case you’re boomer partner asks why they’ve been hemorrhaging associates to these places.

Touché. I'm at a V10 eating crow. If this continues do you think firms will cover therapy sessions? Asking for a friend
