Unironically it may be TLS, which says something about the state of the legal news market. ATL's sorry state was discussed a few pages back (seems like ages ago). They're a shell of their former self and seem to do zero actual reporting or fact-gathering--they're like a Frankensteinian mash-up of PR platform + advertisements pretending to be news + link aggregator.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 11:12 amWhat is the best source to keep up with the raise news? ATL actually still does a pretty good job of tracking comp news. True but even that they're only doing because they're still riding on their historic reputation / brand from Lat's time so associates (and sometimes firms themselves) still directly e-mail them when memos come out. Can you imagine Zaretsky or Patrice actually getting out there and trying to gather news? The minute people stop spoonfeeding them it's over & the farther we get from the years where they actually had sources and did reporting, the closer we are to it being "over"; you can't rest on your laurels from 2014 forever and they're doing diddlyshit right now.ExpOriental wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 11:30 amATL actually still does a pretty good job of tracking comp news. Completely agree and in fact, it seems like comp news breaks on ATL before it breaks on TLS these days. That hasn't historically been the case, so gotta give credit where it's due.

I tried to make a comp news only thread on TLS this cycle, but that got wrecked by the trolls. I'm just relying on ATL now and checking in here every once in a while to see if we're back on track with news.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 11:38 amExpOriental wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 11:30 amATL actually still does a pretty good job of tracking comp news. Honestly, the trolls were better than a dead thread (given the absence of movement). Commendable policing attempts on that thread, btw.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 11:54 amI tried to make a comp news only thread on TLS this cycle, but that got wrecked by the trolls. You need to simmer down by about 5 notches. Asking people on a free-form message board to follow some arbitrary rule "Gentlemen, in this thread, we can all agree, we only discuss the color green" has never worked in the history of the internet and it wasn't going to work in that thread either. It was a good object lesson in why anarchism never works tho if we want to start going deep while we wait for Big Daddy Neil to Wow Us w/ His Money Machine.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 12:45 pmCan someone help me understand why people are so anti that thread? Just because it hasn't worked doesn't mean it can't - it's still not a good reason. Anyway, this thread is perfectly good for the memes, but I guess memes are just a dish served better where someone doesn't want them.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 12:53 pmDon't forget there's no actual news...Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 12:51 pmYou need to simmer down by about 5 notches.
