No, this isn't law school.
I sent one thank you/continued interest email to a screener on Monday with a couple follow up questions from a conversation I had with the interviewer - it had been one of my best interviews and no one on TLS or IRL has reported a callback so it wasn't a certain ding yet. I figured I had nothing to lose with this firm. But I would agree it shouldn't be a standard practice and it's certainly not a hidden passageway to a callback.

I thought the question was about continued interest emails post-CB pending an offer.

Different poster here. I think a follow-up to a screener might be okay at this point (nothing to lose IMO), but sending a continuing interest e-mail after the callback stage doesn't make much sense.
