Do ppl think that firms' classes in this round of upcoming OCI are going to be smaller than usual? (on the average)

Bump on this question. Anyone care to speculate? Will the prospect of vaccine deployment — which should hopefully feel a bit more tangibly "close by" when January OCI rolls around — supercharge firms' hiring plans with positive animal spirits?

Have talked to a number of firms (ranging from V5-V30ish) that have all said that they anticipate having a class around the same size as last year. We'll see if that ends up being true or not.

Worth remembering too that firms were already downsizing their class sizes and that last year's sizes were smaller than the year prior. I know my firm is downsizing their class and based on my school's OCI data, many firms have decreased the number of screeners they're doing. Not that this is revolutionary info, but I think it's worth being a bit more risk-averse this year and bidding as though the class sizes will be smaller.

Also interviewed Wednesday at DPW and haven't heard, but I really don't think it's necessarily a ding. Sometimes people who interview on the same day hear back at wildly different times (check past pre-OCI forums), and it's early in the season, and there's a pandemic going on... we'll only know for sure when we get the call/email.

Offer yesterday so they're still going out.

Not even that hard, I just talked to an alumni for half an hour. Find one who you have something in common with, cold email, and come prepared with a list of questions. Though not sure if its worth it at this point since finals are next month and and OCI is the month after. It was about a month turnaround between my intial email and offer (at DPW and a near-idential firm). Networking would still be useful for OCI tho.

What is the etiquette after receiving offers? If you get an offer by call do you send thank you emails to the person who called you? Is it unnecessary if you have already sent thank you emails after your callback?
