I haven't got any offers either. I hope that makes you feel better somehow.

If you're facing a mental health crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 1-800-273-8255 or visit them online at https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ - they are available 24/7/365, they serve folks in all 50 states, and they are free.

Additional mental health resources (in addition to the Lifeline above) in select cities:

I wouldn’t give up hope just yet. I talked to NYU career services just before the shitstorm and one of the counselors told me that Big4 accounting firms will still come to hire NYU students even after students are denied from TIP. I dont know how much COVID will affect the hiring process but once the economy starts rolling, I think you should have some opportunities. Don’t give up!!

I mentioned this before, but PwC went on a hiring spree in June of 2017 (my LLM year). So, there is always hope.

A few of my classmates got a call from PwC over the summer giving an offer. These people were REJECTED after callbacks initially.

It may not hurt to be proactive and reach out to their LLM coordinator.

This happened in spring/summer 2019 with EY & PwC as well. The big4 are not nearly as structured in their hiring as biglaw. Don't give up hope. Reach out to alumni.

Thoughts on how public accounting firms are being impacted by the COVID-19 recession? I suppose auditing wouldn't be that heavily impacted, but advisory and consulting are getting crushed right now?

Has anyone heard from any of the law firms you had a callback interview for?

To the Big 4 post above... Recently, I spoke to someone at a Big 4 in a major market and he said his ITS is still pretty busy (his particular group - financial services). I also spoke to someone from M&A and that person said that it has been a struggle to get work.

Also curious. Is the hiring entirely stopped? I heard a friend who accepted an offer before things got serious in March is starting as scheduled. Anyone?

Former big 4 IT (very recently former)

Heard that they are still expecting to hire more but, for obvious reasons, are on pause.

IT consulting (M&A, PE deals, etc.) is very slow but compliance is picking up and some compliance teams are still struggling to get experienced staff (nobody wants a noob they have to train remotely now.)

Did anyone get their official start dates? If so, was it the one that you requested or a later date?

I was supposed to start in July for KPMG M&A in a regional office, but I was told that they will be deferring start dates till August/September and that we should be receiving an official email from the national office soon.

Are you in the northeast? I haven't heard anything from the firm except my recruiter sent me a personalized email with my start date in early March. On standby as to whether that start date still holds.

July start date, Big 4 midwest. Informed that it will be deferred.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
