I believe they are finishing up callbacks this week. I have no idea how many spots they are hiring for (past years suggest just one), but decision(s) should be coming soon.Anonymous User wrote:Any movement from Paul Hastings Chi?

I think they are still hiring, because they asked for my transcript this week. I had thought I already sent it, but I guess not. If they were finished, I can't imagine they would waste time following up with me, but who knows.Anonymous User wrote:Yeah V&E has sent out offers.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone receive a CB or offer from Vinson and Elkins?
I got offers from all the main Texas firms and some lit boutiques (top of class at HYS and strong Texas ties). Sent in apps on December 1, interviewed with some over Christmas break and some in late Jan. Offer timing ranged from before Christmas to last week. Can speak more specifically about particular firms if anyone wants.

Re: 1L job search C/O 2019
Would I have a better shot at a smaller firm in a smaller market if my grades are good (but not stellar), and I'm not t14? I have no ties to the area where this firm is located, but my school is ranked much higher than the three local schools this particular firm generally hires from. I have an interview next week.
I have had a few interviews with bigger firms in larger markets, but just looking through this thread, I'm competing for these spots with t14, t10% people. So I'm not holding my breath on CBs.
I'm also wondering if it would be better to stay here if I don't get a firm job and just do unpaid work (legal aid or something) or go do a study abroad thing? Thoughts?

Has anyone heard from SEC, DOJ Antitrust, or Federal Reserve Bank of NY?

Not an authority on this, but you probably will have somewhat of an advantage in your school's market for this summer. For example, I think USC/UCLA 1Ls will fare better in the LA market this summer than the lower T14.Anonymous User wrote:Would I have a better shot at a smaller firm in a smaller market if my grades are good (but not stellar), and I'm not t14? the firms must have all agreed "on wednesdays, we send dings" because my email and mailbox are stuffed today.

Posted this on a Nashville firm post, but then realized this was probably a more appropriate thread. Has anyone heard back from any Nashville firms for 1L summer? Recently had OCIs with a few Nashville firms, wasn't sure if any callbacks have gone out yet?

Got my first LA firm screener request this week. Lower T14 top 25%. For other LA firms, the only movement has been emails saying "we'll get back to you as soon as we can"Anonymous User wrote:Any los angeles movement?

Is it just me, or are firms moving way slower than last year? Based on last year's thread and 2L/3L anecdotes, by this time last year most firms had already given out offers. Seems like this year, so many firms haven't even had screeners.

That's what I thought too until I talked to my classmates. A lot of firms already made offersAnonymous User wrote:Is it just me, or are firms moving way slower than last year?
