Also interviewed with the Fed Reserve Board of Governors back in July and just today, received a rejection email. (I gave up on them months ago and accepted IRS anyway).
For those of you waiting on Fed Reserve, maybe you'll hear something soon. Good luck!!

Don't give up just yet! I didn't interview for the job I have now until March. Trust the process.

I got an email today to do an interview with the Department of Labor. I applied right before the deadline so if anyone else is still waiting, don't give up hope just yet.

Re: Government Honors (Non-DOJ) 2016-2017 Cycle
About 3 weeks ago, IRS called and asked if I was still interested in coming in for an interview, and I said yes. They said they would follow up with an email soon. Radio silence since. At this point, should I just keep waiting or contact the person who interviewed me at OCI and ask about my application status?

Anyone had luck with other SEC divisions besides Enforcement? Or if you interviewed with Enforcement did they happen to indicate a timeline? I know there is another thread related to SEC specifically but looks like some have posted here as well.

At an in-person interview a couple weeks ago, I was told that there would just be one round of interviews and decision-making, for HQ and regionals. I know in the past regional offices have interviewed separately, though, so I'm not sure if I was given correct information. Regardless, I haven't heard anything from the one regional I applied to (NYC).Anonymous User wrote:Anyone had a callback for a DOL regional office?

Weird. I was told that there would be a second interview for the regional offices.

Re: Government Honors (Non-DOJ) 2016-2017 Cycle
I had an OCI screener with DOL. I left with the impression that the interviewer promotes you for HQ or regional based on your interview. The regional offices are mostly litigation whereas HQ is involved more with policy, research, and appeals. So based on your responses and experience they seemed to make that call for you. Of course, this is all speculation on my part.Anonymous User wrote:I'm the "I'm guessing" anon. That surprises me too. Also, I didn't indicate whether I wanted HQ or regional anywhere on my app, so I'm curious how that affects things.Anonymous User wrote:Meaning they'll give you the job based on one phone interview? I have mine next week.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:
I'm guessing that for DOL after the phone interview there's an in-person interview before an offer?
Depends. For HQ, there is only one interview. For regional offices, there are two.
I have also not heard back from DOL but was told I would hear back "soon" which could mean anything when you are talking about the federal government. I also applied to HUD and have not been contacted for an interview yet. I was an extern at a regional office and left under very good terms with a recommendation from Regional Counsel.

Just so all permutations are covered, I was told in my DOL phone interview that HQ doesn't interview again but regionals might. Haven't heard from either so far.

Congrats on your interview! Hopefully you will hear something back soon. Really hoping the other divisions are simply moving slower and haven't started interviews yet, but that might be wishful thinking.Anonymous User wrote:I interviewed with SEC Enforcement last week over the phone, and haven't heard anything back.

No word from HUD on my end either. I applied the day before the deadline. I was looking at a previous thread (last year I believe) and applicants didn't hear anything until November 12th or something like that. I'm not worried yet.

Re: Government Honors (Non-DOJ) 2016-2017 Cycle
For DOL applicants, I read the threads from the last three years. Regional interviews were still being conducted around New Years and offers were being extended in January-February. It will be a while.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
