I feel especially this way because being in DC this summer it has really been crazy with pre-oci interviews. I know 2 v20 firms that will not be interviewing for their dc office anymore at any oci because they already have filled up on offers. So this year will be more competitive all around (with respect for DC). I myself have had multiple DC callbacks already at firms around v50 that you would not think are doing pre-oci interviews. Its a mess out there (again at least in DC).

Rather not. 1 is in the v10 and one v10-20. They are not DC based firms. Thats as much as I feel comfortable saying.Anonymous User wrote:OMG can you name the v20 firms?Anonymous User wrote:No idea but I'm at median and trying to get dc. Its crazy out there right now. 6 out of the v10 I know through personal knowledge have already offered a bunch of people. The rise of pre-oci is real and happened. Also I know of at least 4 that have offers out of the 11-20 group.Anonymous User wrote:That's terrifying.Anonymous User wrote:Rather not. 1 is in the v10 and one v10-20. They are not DC based firms. Re: Duke Law OCI 2016 (c/o 2018)
3L here and strongly disagree with my classmate who recommended dropping screeners once you hit 8 a day or whatever. I had a day of 10 interviews last OCI and I was over 30 screeners total. It's not like this resulted in me piling up offers, either (and I was somewhere around top 20% and on DLJ at that point). I very easily could have found myself in a situation with just one offer even after all of those screeners. You never know which screener will turn into a CB and which CB into an offer.
If you are worried about being tired or not being at your best or whatever... Suck it up, carry around some Five Hour Energy, do what it takes, because OCI is an incredibly important week of your professional life and this business, for better or for worse, is a numbers game. You need to get in front of as many interviewing attorneys as you can.

Does "hear back" mean you got a callback, or did they let you know about a ding?Anonymous User wrote:Yeah heard about Shearman (yesterday), Reed (yesterday), Phillsbury (today), Simpson (today). Second the question above about Orrick.
Also curious about the day 2 firms. how quickly do firms normally let you know that they aren't interested?

Those are all the callbacks that I have heard of people receiving. They are NOT all mine =) I haven't heard of anyone receiving a ding yet.Anonymous User wrote:Does "hear back" mean you got a callback, or did they let you know about a ding?Anonymous User wrote:Yeah heard about Shearman (yesterday), Reed (yesterday), Phillsbury (today), Simpson (today). And I think the Bay Area process is slower than NY, where a same or next day callback seems standard. I've gotten a callback 3 days after a screener, so don't lose hope yet.

Essentially all Miami screeners wont have callback decisions for a few weeks... sucks (exception is probably JD).
