looks like it should be the 26th.Gray wrote:When do we actually get our interview schedule?
last year it was the 29th but our add/drop period starts the 26th and we need a schedule to do that so I assume they'll have it out by then.

fyi, unofficial trading is a terrible idea. people sit around refreshing that thing all week long (literally. all. week. long.), and there's no way to distinguish something someone's trying to trade vs something someone didn't want, so shit gets sniped (validly) all day long. people get mad in the fb groups when it happens, but the system can't accommodate you, so why would you expect otherwise?
my advice: refresh shit all day long and try to snipe shit. don't be the schmuck that "trades" something you actually want only to have it stolen out from under your trading partner while the slot you were trading for gets stolen by someone else. SNIPE LEST YE BE SNIPED.
the happiness of your future children tomorrow depends on your ruthlessness today.

Do any of the Symplicity mobile apps sync with GULCs EIW? If so, I can trade out my Poke-hunting time for spot-sniping time and meet every hiring attorney this side of the Mississippi!Glasseyes wrote:fyi, unofficial trading is terrible idea. people sit around refreshing that thing all week long (literally. all. week. long.), and there's no way to distinguish something someone's trying to trade vs something someone didn't want, so shit gets sniped (validly) all day long. people get mad in the fb groups when it happens, but the system can't accommodate you, so why would you expect otherwise?

Just do email recruiting contacts begging for interviews. If you've got the grades for it they'll accommodate you and if you don't then your chances at working there were coin tosses to begin with.Glasseyes wrote:fyi, unofficial trading is terrible idea. people sit around refreshing that thing all week long (literally. all. week. long.), and there's no way to distinguish something someone's trying to trade vs something someone didn't want, so shit gets sniped (validly) all day long. people get mad in the fb groups when it happens, but the system can't accommodate you, so why would you expect otherwise?

Hustling to pick up interviews definitely seems a better option than forgoing an opportunity at potential employmentCapitol_Idea wrote:Just do email recruiting contacts begging for interviews. Re: Georgetown EIW - 2016
fwiw, i did manage to get an offer from a firm that didn't preselect me and wasn't originally assigned as a screener, and who didn't bother scheduling me for a back-door / shadow-schedule screener. just snagged the screener during open signup and got lucky enough not to blow it. not trying to humblebrag, as I didn't end up taking it anyway (guess that doesn't really help), but it was mildly refreshing to realize screeners aren't (completely) predetermined by grades and resume.

Good luck everyone! And try not to get too stressed. Get away from your phone (easier said than done). I remember being glued to mine. Also for unofficial trading, you can pick some really random time at night or early morning or something like that and coordinate with the other person, that way there's slightly less risk it might be picked up by someone else.
Btw, now is the best time to pull in all the connections you possibly can. Email an alumni you met at an event about an interview if you didn't get one through OCI (another summer at my firm did that and got an interview which lead to her being here). Another example, my 1L summer mentor pulled her connections to get me an interview when I didn't get it through OCI. You just never know.

Anyone think we're going to get journal results this week? This whole "hurry up and wait" environment is getting more and more obnoxious.

Didn't get GLJ unfortunately, but got GJIL. Is it worth updating a firm post-CB? Had a CB earlier in the week.

I know at least a couple of these firms have done some pre-EIW GULC interviews. Not sure what the communication between GULC and firms has been about interviews though.Anonymous User wrote:are other rising 2Ls getting a lot of "GULC told us not to interview pre-OCI" responses? any pre-OCI bites at Akin, Latham, Cooley, Cleary, Hogan?

Is anyone surprised by the 320+ students that were SAs this summer?! Also I find it annoying that they no longer post minimum GPAs for the EIW GPA Data.

I would guess tomorrow, since that's when the cancellation period starts.Anonymous User wrote:EIW schedules are supposed to be released today or tomorrow, right?
