Re: Cravath's Spawn - the Wave of Copycats - RUNNING TALLY
Kelley Drye's announcement was just a cheap attempt to drum up attention. It wasn't paying market to begin with. But I think it's perfectly fine to place them on a TTT list in response.Huluba wrote:Why is Kelley Drye on the list at all. Don't they pay 1st years 145k anyway?

Baker did not say it was matching, it just said that it is monitoring the situation and intends to stay competitive with its peers- http://abovethelaw.com/2016/06/at-least ... te-raises/
That could be read multiple ways. Depending on who Baker thinks its peers are, it may be that most of them haven't matched yet at least, even in NYC.

If anyone cares, here is the initial slew of NY to 160 matches back in 2007:

After late June 2007 it's just a trickle but if there's interest I can fill that data out too.

if you can upload to a google sheet and the link to it, that'd be great.Capitol_Idea wrote:If anyone cares, here is the initial slew of NY to 160 matches back in 2007:

Just to double-check: "firmwide" as in they are matching in every office? Or just NY?Anonymous User wrote:O'melveny matching per firmwide voice mail.
Edit: Yes. http://abovethelaw.com/2016/06/money_on_the_west_coast/

Associates seem to think that means it's going to happen, not that they're trying to wait it out. Baker is huge and slow and bureaucratic.Anonymous User wrote:Baker did not say it was matching, it just said that it is monitoring the situation and intends to stay competitive with its peers- http://abovethelaw.com/2016/06/at-least ... te-raises/
