my firm last summer let us. in fact we had to either bring it home, or lock it in our desk. didn't have vpn tho, so it was basically just a paper weight. the laptops came with those nylon computer cases.
regardless, though, youd probably want a legit, leather bag anyways. even without toting a computer around, you aren't planning on carrying anything?

Business casual firms are casually business-like

Definitely don't need a leather bag. Any sort of reasonable messenger will do.

More evidence for this topic's prescience: first major discussion topic = Allen Edmonds shoes. AND outside of which major metro area is Allen Edmonds based?!?!

Lots of businesses don't use desktops and just use laptops nowadays.

Yeah - this answer is what i was looking for. Should have been more specific. I have a bag - decent enough messenger bag (not shit, but nothing special). Just didn't want to drop 200+ on something nicer if it wasnt necessary.

I was also gonna do bonobos. I have one pair that I love, probably get two more. Need two or three more shirts, i'm gonna get Charles tyrwhitt - can usually get a deal when you buy three or more.
Shoes...well, we've covered shoes in detail.

I snaged some Jcrew slacks for cheap a few months back and grabbed a bunch of Brooks brothers shirts today at 30% off.

Thoughts on nice khakis vs wool slacks for bizcaz firm? Slacks are obviously the safe choice... but I hate them and they hate me, especially in the swampass dregs of a DC summer. Non-tan khakis = no offer?

I'm also at a DC business casual firm. I'm going khakis all the way, wool = winter. I'm pretty sure grey and navy are also fine. If not, I'll happily take my no-offer.
Also pro-tip for guys looking to buy some decent quality shirts: Charles Tyrwhitt has one of their "every shirt under $30" promotions running right now, until June 5 I think (or while supplies last). Negligible difference in quality with BB, but way cheaper.

CT is an incredible value but I have to disagree with you here. There is definitely a non-negligeble difference in quality with BB. I have been a huge CT fan for a few years and while I still love them, and they may be a better option due to price, they just are not quite as high quality as BB. White BB shirts for example are noticeably less see-through than CT shirts.

No Florida poll options?
I still have to buy a lot of clothes. Don't really have anything business casual to wear.
