Re: 3L OCI
Is anyone having luck emailing recruiters directly or has everyone gone to OCI? Firms could do better about "no offering" while OCI is still an option...

That's what I'm hoping. What's the protocol here? Give them a letter of continued interest around September 1 and wait for the ding?

Any news from Latham LA and Paul Hastings NY? Did screener with these two at OCI for 3Ls. Other than that, nothing from my mass mailing effort starting late July except for the standard "we are not hiring" dings. Really hope things can start to flow beginning the last two weeks of August.

Just scheduled a screening interview at the office of an NY v10 via massmail. Does anyone know what is usually discussed during 3L screeners? I spent my summer at a non-NY v100 and received an offer. I am guessing that my experience there will be discussed. But any idea of other things? Will it be like a 2L OCI screener?

Re: 3L OCI
Most of the interviews I've done this August as a 3L have been casual, chatting about interests & whatever, pretty indistinguishable from 2L. Though they obviously expect you to have a more defined practice area interest.Anonymous User wrote:Just scheduled a screening interview at the office of an NY v10 via massmail. I have a couple quick questions if you don't mind. Did you mass mail PW corp? If so, how long did it take for them to get back to you for the CB?Anonymous User wrote:I had a CB with PW corp over 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing. Not even an email ding. Thanks so much in advance!

Getting more luck from management consulting companies than I am from law firms in my desired market. Has anyone gotten responses mass mailing Boston firms (other than the auto-ding where they just aren't hiring)?

Obviously not from writing in. They didn't even say there is a hiring need. The HR was rude though.

Nice. Did you get an interview through OCI or mass mail?Anonymous User wrote:Paul Hastings NY Offer
Kinda sucks bc our school's OCI is pretty late. They're coming to our school but it seems they've already given offers out already

Any of you mass-mailing from HYS? Is it possible to crack the V10 if you didn't have the grades the first time around but you do as a rising 3L?
Specifically, the Corp depts of any of these: Cravath, DPW, PaulWeiss, Weil, Latham, Skadden, K&E, Cleary.

To all 3L's out there: Don't feel bad that you're getting no where, becuase the "best" of us aren't getting anywhere either. Keep hustling, and stay positive.Anonymous User wrote:^^ anon above, yes been massmailing from HYS with a decent grade bump... not much action so far though..

How decent of a grade bump? Back into top 33/40%, cumulatively? By no action do you mean rejections, or radio silence because they're busy with 2L recruitment?^^ anon above, yes been massmailing from HYS with a decent grade bump... not much action so far though..

Re: 3L OCI
does any of this apply to students clerking after they graduate? Would most firms just say to wait until the middle of your clerkship?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
