Don't show up at work sick. People with actual work to do (i.e., anyone who is not a summer associate) will resent you for exposing them to whatever it is you got.
No, you do not need a note.

How much money am I losing if I call off sick for a day?

Anyone else still yet to receive their schedule/more details about their program? I start in two weeks and all I've heard is my start and end dates and had to fill out a couple surveys.
Same. I've gotten the basic employment forms but no info on exactly when/where to go, what to do, etc. I assume it'll be sent soon.
I got a full schedule. jam packed. I'm excited for "Escape the Room" day.
Lololol plz tell me this has a description along with it.

If it's big law, probably nothing. You can always offer to work from home.

No full schedule yet other than start and end dates, though I was told that my firm (satellite office) will be making a trip to NY at some point for what I can only assume is a firm-wide SA event of some sort.
Pretty excited, officially less than one week until start day! (and only four days until exams are over!)

My firm has a firm-wide field trip too. And in BigLaw that can mean a LOT of SAs (more opportunities to play 'spot the no offer buffoon')

Harsh truth, anyone posting on TLS already as two strikes on the no offer pitch count

I was gonna say, zacharus, your post had "sad irony" written all over it.

So on a scale of being outed on TLS at school to being Winstoned, how bad is being outed on TLS to people at your firm?
Assuming its a lot closer to being Winstoned...
And DF how do we stay totally anon while mega poasting at work??

I'm pretty sure most people at my school know who I am on TLS by now, and unfortunately that will most likely carry over to the summer.

I'm totally outed at school but I don't think it'll carry to this summer--no classmates at my firm.

Last summer I implied during a lunch that I didn't go to class much. I got weird looks from an older partner. Sometimes it's easy to forget that what counts as acceptable, even laudable, behavior on TLS / in school sends the exact wrong message to an employer. He basically heard me say that I blow off scheduled meetings. Anyway, that's not enough to get no-offered, but it's the kind of slip-up that anyone -- not just weirdos -- can make.

A guy at my work knows, hopefully he didn't tell anyone.
I'm not sure the fact that someone knows is really the big risk. More that you are definitely weird if you post on TLS.
The number of TLSers who got no offered is insanely high.
