poster from above here. They started in mid November? Mine wasn't even scheduled until mid-November when I got the request beginning of November. Would they really fly in over 20 people? As of COB today, I hadn't heard from any of my references--I asked them to give me a shout if/when they were contacted. I interviewed later in the week though, so I'm trying not to read into it...

I had a similar timeline in terms of interview request and scheduling, but I had no availability before the holiday. In contrast to you, I made a short drive up to the District and am only getting reimbursed on miles. So they aren't dropping 1K on every candidate.Anonymous User wrote:As of COB today, I hadn't heard from any of my references--I asked them to give me a shout if/when they were contacted. poster who interviewed last monday here... I received confirmation from another reference that NRC called. So the good news is that the office is working on it!
Also, does anyone know the timeframe for when we will get our reimbursement checks? I'm totally broke and need to pay rent ASAP.

I interviewed for HUD in Atlanta for the Atlanta, San Francisco and DC offices. I was told that offers will go out between mid December and early January depending on budget and if you get a first round offer or not. I was too nervous to check and see if my references were contacted so I'm just going to wait and see! I was also told that they make notes about your interview answers then send it all to DC and DC makes the initial decisions, the field office don't have too much say in who makes the initial cut.

My references let me know they were called within a week after the interview, but I interviewed with the Chicago regional office (for DC and Philadelphia), so that probably doesn't tell you much. I heard the same things about sending all the notes to DC, except that the regions were allowed to cut some and only check references on those they wanted to move forward. DC makes the major decisions though.Anonymous User wrote:I interviewed for HUD in Atlanta for the Atlanta, San Francisco and DC offices. I did hear that about 80 candidates made it to interviews across the country, and they got over 1500 applications. So, they did a pretty narrow first cut.

Re: Government Honors Programs 2014-2015 Cycle
Just wanted to bolster this. My references were contacted about a week after my initial interview as well. I interviewed in DC for DC and a couple of regional offices. Also heard about the ~80 interview thing, (though I'll dispute the "over 1500 applications" part). However many applications there might have been though, considering they seem to make offers to about 20, those are pretty good odds: all things considered. Nonetheless, mid-December to January is what they said, so I'll continue to hesitate to put my phone on silent while studying for exams. Good luck to both of you, though! Hopefully we'll all be in the 25%!Anonymous User wrote:My references let me know they were called within a week after the interview, but I interviewed with the Chicago regional office (for DC and Philadelphia), so that probably doesn't tell you much. Re: Government Honors Programs 2014-2015 Cycle
I had my interview last Wednesday. They said I was one of the last people they were interviewing, and one of the AGCs said that 29 people made it to "that level" when referencing a question. That could mean interviews or could mean just made it through a certain point in USAJobs. I rode up from the south so I'm just getting crazy reimbursements for gas money.Anonymous User wrote:I had a similar timeline in terms of interview request and scheduling, but I had no availability before the holiday. So 29 interviews and maybe 6 offers.. around a 20% rate. Keeping my fingers crossed. Anyone else hear from references yet?Anonymous User wrote:

A contact of mine said they were interviewing back in late October. Haven't heard anything since, rejection or otherwise. I had mostly given on hope on that front.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard from NRC ASLBP? I see a lot of posts for NRC OGC Honors but no update on ASLBP...

Oh wow! That was much earlier than I was expecting. Hopefully they didn't make all offers yesterday, and I've still got a chance.Anonymous User wrote:

Did you receive your offer by phone? If so, did Headquarters call you?

Yep. By phone, from Headquarters. The offer also was FOR headquarters, so no telling if the regional offices are on the same timeline or how that's working. GL!Anonymous User wrote:Did you receive your offer by phone? If so, did Headquarters call you?

Re: Government Honors Programs 2014-2015 Cycle
I got really depressed about the whole thing today cuz I haven't heard anything. All of my government friends say HR is probably taking vacation, so a decision may be made but we won't find out until after the holidays. I think they might just be saying that to make me feel better. However, if no one has gotten an offer maybe there is still hope.Anonymous User wrote:ANY word on NRC notifications?
