UT's OCI will finish on 8/19 (or 18; early that week) so if nobody gets offers from Texas firms until then I wouldn't be surprised.

Just checked; looks like Beck's interview day is the 18th.

Lol Cravath. The only firms I haven't heard from either way now are Skadden and Ropes & Gray.

Yes. One unscheduled alternate turned into a scheduled alternate.

Nice. I have an unscheduled preselect still (and I don't have 25 interviews scheduled.)

Dumb question, but can we cancel scheduled interviews through Symplicity still?

Offers should be coming out by end of next week for bulk of NY stuff. I got Debevoise offer today, other firms said first hiring comm. meeting was next week.

I feel like this a good problem to have, but it is annoying bc I don't want firms to think I'm not interested by not going.

Reception tip:

A lot of the larger firms are ones you can slip in, grab your nametag, make sure you speak to the people you interviewed with, and then slip out. They're mostly all downtown, so you can cab it/uber between them. I did 3 or 4 each night for a couple of nights this way. Did not impact CB numbers.

So I have a weird reception situation... I just got awarded an alternate interview yesterday, but I know from others that reception invites for that firm were sent out before yesterday, and obviously I didn't receive one. Also the reception is the night BEFORE the interview, so I'm not sure what to do.

Anyone else interviewing with Kirkland (Houston)? I know the office is brand new, so I'm curious what it's like there.

I am. The extra bonus is enticing, but I'm a bit worried about the office's singular focus on PE.

Cadwalader hired 12 or 13 laterals when they opened, 8 or 9 of whom had left within a year and they've made little effort to replace them.

I got a Dechert cb but I don't think I'm going...kind of ran out of time and I have an NY offer I'd rather take

Edit: sorry incomplete reply on phone...after initial email I haven't received anything else
