The call was with one of the partners and was very informal. I mentioned I would do my due diligence of OCI and he said "of course" but I think a more formal offer sheet is coming in the mail soon. I figured I'd reach out to the recruiting director for more specifics, but I doubt they'll be very pushy given their stance of this new recruiting model.

I was gonna skip this as I'm pretty set on transactional but I'm having second thoughts. Is it too late to send an app in?

It doesn't seem like it. They seem like they are still trying to figure out who to give CBs to.

I may be a little late the party, but I just heard about this new hiring scheme. If I've got ties to the bay area do y'all think it's worth it to send apps to both SV and SF? Would I have a hard time demonstrating to them that I'm interested in both offices?

You can apply to both but you have to say which one you would prefer. Based on personal experience - I applied to 2 offices and I received an email from both recruiters asking which one is my preference.

Similar to what everyone else experienced. Sent in one day, over the next day I got my notifications that they had received my applications, then the day after that I got a note that I needed to choose a primary office.

Are callbacks coming via email or by phone?

Okay so we have NYC doing CBs and it looks like DC as well? Any other offices doing CB stuff yet?

Anon on page 4 got an LA CB.

I applied to LA office last week and have not gotten the generic "reviewing application" email.

I got a generic "reviewing application" email from a different person than I applied to/was listed online for the LA office.

I applied last week and got the generic "reviewing apps" email soon after. At what point should I follow up and if so, what should I say? Btw, HLS 2H/8P, ties to LA, great interviewer (just need to get in the door).

Is it common to get an offer without a CB? Submitted about three weeks ago.

ETA: I have no offer; I was being facetious

If I'm at a school that hasn't released GPA cutoffs yet, would you recommend just applying now and then emailing them with a follow-up when cutoffs are released? FWIW I think it would work to my advantage to report the cutoffs but I don't know if the delay in applying is worth it. The cutoffs could be released anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks from now.

So they just hired you as an SA based on your resume and transcript?

In my opinion I think you should wait. People, myself included at one point, have been panicking over this early time-line because some people are beginning to get CBs at LA, DC, and NY (I only personally know about LA). However, I think this is likely the exception and not the norm. As has been said earlier, I think they are probably giving early CBs to the absolute top candidates now, and waiting on the OCI time-table to make the rest of the decisions. I think it would be less complicated at this point just to wait until your GPA-cutoffs come out.

However, this is just my opinion; if others want to chime-in, please.

People at schools on the quarter system don't have all their grades. I'm sure it's not too late to apply and it won't be for a while.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
