I wouldn't worry too much yet. I received an offer from them about half a week after their outside estimate that they originally gave me.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard from F&J Dallas lately? They said a week but it's been slightly longer. Starting to worry . . .

Anyone know when B&G's Houston hiring committee meets?
Know of any offers? If so, when/what day of the week?

Re: Texas Markets: Results Thread
Haynes Boone has a great reputation. As far as salaries go, you need to look beyond the numbers alone. Strasburger NALP says 130, but also says on NALP that they give 10K graduation bonus and 10K performance bonus; also their first year associates have only 1600 hour billing expectation. Haynes Boone is not necessarily 160K--this year's SA offers were with an undetermined salary. So pay per hour might not be better at HayBoo than Strasburger.Richie Tenenbaum wrote:Strasburger is 130, hayboo should be 160.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone know the starting salaries at these two places?Anonymous User wrote:What are you struggling with? Those are two very different law firms. I think those firms have different visions of exactly what type of firms they would like to become. The attorneys at each firm also have different personalities.Anonymous User wrote:Got offers from H&B Dallas and Strasburger. Cant decide, anyone know their offer rates after summer internship?
While I think offer rates are important to consider, you have an opportunity to really decide on the basis of fit and personality.
Talk to recruiting. They'll answer your questions on offer rates.
Full disclosure: I truned down offers from both but had Strasburger higher on my list due to personality and fit.
Edit: in terms of "prestige," Haynes Boone has the advantage. In terms of reputation, I've never really heard anyone trash Haynes Boone--they seem to have one of the better reps, in terms of lifestyle. Don't know as much about strasburger.

So do you think the Texas firms (Dallas, Houston) are done or waiting for people sitting on offers to decline before extending any more? Not much activity here lately.

Re: Texas Markets: Results Thread
No idea, still waiting on two Houston offices two weeks after the CB. One of the partners who responded to my thank-you email said that they would be interviewing a few more candidates and final decisions would be made thereafter. It's been exactly two weeks since my CB for that firm.Anonymous User wrote:So do you think the Texas firms (Dallas, Houston) are done or waiting for people sitting on offers to decline before extending any more? Is anyone hearing anything from Thompson Knight Houston? With the exception of the Texas Interview Program thread from a few weeks ago, there hasn't been much about them (offers or dings) on TLS.
