I'm not the first poster quoted, but I received the same status update a few minutes ago (also for the Civil Division). It just reads "Selected as Finalist."

Perhaps this is just a Civil Division thing? Anyone from a different component have a similar status change?

I'm the MVPDN finalist from above. Just curious (if you wouldn't mind): are you all-in for PI or have you accepted a firm offer with the intention of splitting?

I firm interviewed on a whim and have offers, but I don't think I'm going to take one/try to split.

Civil Division DC, changed to Finalist status today. Have not received a phone call. Top 5% LR UCLA/UT/Vanderbilt.

Hi all, just curious, for those of you who are still stuck at "application received" or "referred to components" what were the three divisions you ranked?

Civil Rights, Immigration, Civil. Stuck at "referred to components" with no phone call or e-mail. Someone please enlighten me on what this means at this point?

Announcement from the resident immigration division poster:

EOIP sent out an email to those selected for further consideration asking for additional information and stating that there won't be interviews. So, if there happens to be anyone else out on the internet that this might apply to, there you go.

Not to worry if you are waiting for SLIP- just ask the firm to extend the deadline or discuss a split. NALP guidelines are pretty clear:

Candidates may request that an employer extend the deadline to accept the employer’s offer until as late as April 1 if the candidate is actively pursuing positions with public interest or government organizations. Candidates may hold open only one offer in such circumstances. Employers are encouraged to grant such requests.

Does DOJ allow splits for SLIP? I'd love to split but don't know if it's a real option.
