Congratulations. I wasn't worried about how you would do. I did just as well, although I rejected all 3 V5 offers and decided to go with a V10.Anonymous User wrote:OP here.

Anyone I know who wanted elite biglaw got it, regardless of how many Ps, Hs or CRs they had to this point.

I know of at least one person who has so far struck out, despite wanting to do biglaw this summer/after graduation. I also know of at least one other person who didn't really want biglaw but was hoping for summer money that ended up with nothing out of OCI. Not grade-dependent at all, I don't think, but it wasn't all sunshine and roses over in the Omni.Anonymous User wrote: Anyone I know who wanted elite biglaw got it, regardless of how many Ps, Hs or CRs they had to this point.

Either your definitions of "elite" and/or "biglaw" are expansive, or you don't know very many peopleAnonymous User wrote:Anyone I know who wanted elite biglaw got it

LOL. Not really brave. Just logical. I didn't want to be pigeon-holed by Cravath; DPW is too passive-aggressive for my taste; and S&C is too cold and informal. According to my guts, STB just felt the best. Besides I might be interested in private equity and obviously STB is the best.RVP11 wrote:You rebel you. I don't doubt a few of us struck out but I was talking about the people that I KNOW - friends and acquaintances. Naturally, it doesn't mean that all of them accepted offers to work in biglaw.Anonymous User wrote:I know of at least one person who has so far struck out, despite wanting to do biglaw this summer/after graduation. Agreed. I know a number of people that got biglaw, but it sure wasn't elite (think Paul Hastings) and they certainly wanted better gigs. It's just a consequence of the fact that you're up against other Yalies, some of who have better personalities/click or, *shocker*, better grades when grades do matter to some extent.Either your definitions of "elite" and/or "biglaw" are expansive, or you don't know very many people
There just aren't enough slots at the very top (what you term "elite") biglaw firms to go around for all of us. And given how elite everyone here is, we all wanted the best.
