Simpson offers out from friday CB: for anyone wondering, seems like 1 day turnaround does mean 1 business day

Anyone heard from the lit hiring partner at Cravath who interviewed with only lit on Saturday? I know corporate calls have gone out

I sent callback thank you emails next day, but I don't think they had any effect since I often got the call just a couple hours after I sent them.

Yes. I assume it's their way of saying "ding."
so we are assuming thats a ding? got it too. worth calling to figure out? :(
Yeah, I think calling is worth it. Can't hurt you if they've already dinged you.

It is sort of strange that there was no explanation email afterward. Maybe they don't know that there was a glitch.

It was a bunch of numbers and letters. Literally didn't say anything. Very strange (I'm assuming it was meant to be a ding, because the message subject was 'Paul Hastings Application')

If I also had a cb on Thursday but did not get an offer today, what does that mean for me?

Same boat, I don't think we're out yet. I'd give it another day; if we don't hear tomorrow, it's probably bad news.

I like you a lot for saying this - do you have anything to back it up though - I assumed not hearing means no offer? I had a great cb fwiw but I guess that doesn't mean much.

Diff anon but someone did the same thing with a PW CB - had cb on the same day and other person got an offer before them, they still got an offer like two days later. Don't freak out yet.

re: Cleary

Any idea if the reception tomorrow makes a difference helping/hurting offer chance from a Thursday (last week) cb? Also, what does "business casual attire" really mean? What are ya'll wearing?

Basically what the person above said. I have heard Cleary takes 2-4 days to get back to interviewees - they are a little slower than Simpson/S&C/Cravath. So depending on who you interviewed with and who your hiring partner is, it's possible the decisions could roll out over two days. Possible - not guaranteed.

Did anyone else notice that if you go to Cleary's scheduling website they allow you to schedule a CB for any office (not just the one you initially interviewed with). Do you think it is ok/allowed to schedule with NY if you interviewed with another office?

This happened to me at Bingham NY (not OP).
I would suggest that you consider whether there's anything you can learn from the experience. It could be the interviewer was just a jerk, but it's also possible he/she was trying to help you. I had one screener at Columbia this year who seemed like a decent enough guy but who was just a horrible interviewer. It was pretty clear within 10 minutes (maybe sooner) that I wasn't going to give him a callback, and I briefly considered just stopping the interview and spending the next 10 minutes giving him advice on interviewing skills. I honestly felt bad for the guy. But then I decided I didn't want to take the risk that it would get taken the wrong way and leave him feeling insulted (like OP), so I just finished out the interview.

Same thing happened to me yesterday with a poor guy I was interviewing. If someone was moved to give you interview advice, he wasn't trying to insult you, he was trying to help you. Shit, it would make me LIKE that firm more. You should be so lucky to work with partners who will give you that kind of guidance when you fuck up your work.
