Sutherland ATL isn't hiring 1Ls. If you haven't heard from any of those firms, you should proceed under the assumption that you were dinged.

If you want a paid firm job and don't already have one, then do it. If you don't care about the job and don't want to waste time prepping for it, then do it. I don't understand the problem here.

I don't think a firm would go out of their way to screen you if all their spots were filled. Firms typically choose their screening requests wisely and hold off on offering until they're done screening + calling-back and/or make offers on a rolling basis. It seems like it's the latter in your situation (or you were on some sort of wait-list).

I, personally, would take the interview if I were jobless, but if you feel like it's too late, just politely decline

I am sorry, i am new to this, and did not realize that i might have options as a 1L, everyone had previously told me that NYC was pretty much off limits to a non-nyc T14 1L. I am now wondering if i should start sending out my materials!

Your post history suggests you're at UVA; none of your friends have mass-mailed NYC? Career Services didn't talk about potential 1L SA jobs (albeit, they're still relativelyhard to get). I think a UVA 1L would have as great a shot as any other 1L, save for a few schools.

I think it's realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly late at this point, and sending out firm applications now is highly unlikely to get you any bites in NYC. But make sure to tell the 1Ls next year that it's definitely possible! Do the interview; good luck.

i appreciate the help. i should have tried to capitalize more on my first semester grades, i just didnt think a v10 firm would bite on a 1L, although you miss all of your shots you dont take i guess.

i assume im not hurting myself by firing away at places S and C which seems to have delayed their callbacks or should i just wait for 2L
