My flights in/out from both first half and second half firm were covered. Uhh not movers though, are you really bringing that much stuff for a summer internship
Unless I'm misunderstanding and you mean for coming back as an associate

Also, you guys are shitty class mates. We had an event that turned into a total shitshow last night and one of my boys from my class was starting to get out of control and inapproriate, so a few of us got him the fuck out of there asap.El Pollito wrote:that's amazing if true

Ran to post this.Tiago Splitter wrote:Sounds very out of character for a guy who had been warned about his drinking problem weeks earlier.Anonymous User wrote:Storytime:
My firm is a satellite, with a small class of summer associates. They gave us all offers on our last day. We go out to celebrate at one last firm event. One summer gets completely, shit-faced drunk (and note that they have warned him about his drinking problem before, because he once missed a firm flight after a heavy night of boozing). He inappropriately touches all of the women in the room at some point throughout the night, including licking a partner's neck. It was completely out of character for him and outside of that he's been a chill bro the whole summer. What's sad is that if he had just held his shit together one last night, everything would have been okay.
Offer retracted.

Me too. Firm waits a few weeks before offering so we're in the shit-your-pants and wait period.

My firm just gave us self-review forms to fill out before our final reviews. The form SA ys to talk about strengths, places you improved, and things you still need to work on with regard to stuff like legal skills and professionalism.
How critical of myself should I be here? I can think of a bunch of work I could have done better on and I'm pretty burgers so I never know if I'm rubbing people the wrong way. So there's a bunch of stuff I could write about, but I don't know if a lot of it was noticed by anyone other than me.

Re: Summer Associate Class of 2015
My summer ended yesterday too.
We were told to "bill" everything (lunches, baseball games, sitting around the office doing nothing, etc.). Doing so, I was on pace to "bill" 2400 hours. Cannot imagine how people do that for real work. Though in roughly 18 months, I won't have to imagine it, so that's great.
It seemed like all the other summers at the firm really loved it. Lots of "Didn't we choose a great firm?", "So happy with my choice" and so on. I didn't have any bad experiences this summer, but I can't wrap my head around the mindset. It was fine, the people were fine, but how can you know?
I did have two different first-year associates bring up the idea of a raise to 190 to me. So it's basically confirmed.

Just based on what you said I would go with a medium level of critical when it comes to legal skills (not as critical as you can be/want to be but not ignoring obvious stuff either) and I wouldn't be critical about your professionalism at all (if you have even just a moderate level of burgers I don't think you could articulate this in a way that will read well)Anonymous User wrote:My firm just gave us self-review forms to fill out before our final reviews. From the story, it sounds like if they had gotten tongue-bro out of there, he would have fucked up hard the next time he had the chance.Kratos wrote:seriously though. good shit by you dudesDJ JD wrote:You the real MVP.J9ofDiamonds wrote:Also, you guys are shitty class mates. Got an offer (yay) but they gave us the real nice offer letters at our celebration. Got drunk, left it at the bar. Do I just call up the recruiter and ask to re-send the sheet for us to sign? Kinda embarrassing.

Any firms send no offers via snail mail?
Waiting for call/email still. Haven't heard from other summers; didn't want to ask. Still working at at another firm & thus haven't been able to check my mailbox.

I was talking to some other summers and they heard rumblings that firms will be bumping salaries to "at least 180K." That's a direct quote.jbagelboy wrote:well if we can read anything into the cryptic answers provided by the compensation committee...beepboopbeep wrote:Thank god first-year associates are the ones deciding first-year-associate pay
