lol. no call or email for the offer, only a snail mail offer letter (for next summer). it was forwarded around to several different addresses (but never my current apartment) until it reached my parents, who only realized what it was today and called me, two weeks after it was sent out.
I had basically given up by the end of last week since the other summers had heard and I hadn't. stupid snail mail.

It is odd if they're a 100% firm, but could be any number of things nobody will know. Do you have any other summers you're tight enough with to call to ask if they're in the same boat? I feel like my first goal would be to establish if this is unique to me. Keep in mind that my predominant character strength and character flaw is my proactivity, so get a second opinion. I also trust the other summers' tact and discreetness more than anyone else I've met in the law school game. Just seemed like people would only gossip if it benefited them so it's near 0% that they would tell people, "Yo, Sarah hasn't heard back".Anonymous User wrote:Been more than two weeks and I'm definitely replaying everything from the summer right now. What's the reason they wait so long to make a decision? Historically 100% offer-rate firm.Anonymous User wrote: Sucks. If you were neurotic like me, you'd be replaying everything from the summer until you went insane. I'd hustle like you're no offered, but not think about it. If you get another offer it doesn't really matter what the outcome is unless you want your firm or no firm at all... but that type of devotion would be like a really nerdy version of The Notebook and weird as hell.

For those still waiting for offer calls/emails, are you in primary or secondary markets? Need to gauge my own prospects. Thanks for sharing.

Primary. No one has heard yet as far as I know at my place.Anonymous User wrote:For those still waiting for offer calls/emails, are you in primary or secondary markets? Need to gauge my own prospects. Thanks for sharing.

This is weird. I don't get it. Too passive to be cold, too passive to be hot.Regulus wrote:jbagelboy wrote:lol. no call or email for the offer, only a snail mail offer letter (for next summer). it was forwarded around to several different addresses (but never my current apartment) until it reached my parents, who only realized what it was today and called me, two weeks after it was sent out.

How common is it for satellite offices to get approval from the home office before hiring summer associates? (Nationwide it's a 500+ attorney firm).
The exit interview went swimmingly, they just said that they have to talk to the home office before they can hire. Not sure how to read that...
Edit: this is not a 100% offer firm

This is anecdotal, but I think it is very common. I think the general business decisions like if you want em all take em are being made by the CEO and his/her minions (or whatever your firm calls it). One or two people probably isn't a big enough cost to generate a cage fight, but I bet the firm bylaws or whatever give ground control the authority to direct major tom.Anonymous User wrote:How common is it for satellite offices to get approval from the home office before hiring summer associates? In this market, I'm not taking anything for granted. Started in late July, like most other people I know.

He must be kidding. Either that or he doesn't understand what "top tier" meansSlambonie3 wrote:Could you elaborate?Rahviveh wrote:Understatement of the yearWHJTMG178 wrote:. Schulte has a top tier hedge fund practice.
Edit: it looks like some random person is trolling Schulte on TLS. I don't know if it's this guy but he's certainly enthusiastic...

From what I understand though that is their specialty and they are band 1/top tier with this practice. Am I wrong? Please keep trolling to a minimum this is my futuremr.hands wrote:He must be kidding. Different anon. I didn't want to mass mail, because I liked my firm, and figured that getting no offered would make it less than 50/50 I would get another offer. I didn't think the risk of the firm finding out would be worth it. Also, none of the summers I was close with were either. Presumably, within a week of the SA I am sure everyone would have. 3 weeks is a really long time, and I am sure they expect you to have been massmailing yesterday.Anonymous User wrote:ya gotta be kidding. Starting to get back dings from massmailing hundreds of letters. Not what I was looking for, but al least I'm getting feedback, compared to this dead silence from my firms.
