I mean, maybe this is true. But I've asked a handful of partners about this, and they've all said that the only time they've noticed a difference in the quality of work between a 2L and a 1L SA is if the 2L actually worked as an SA the previous summer, and even then the gap closes quickly.Druid wrote:Because a 1L SA knows even less shit than a 2L SA.elterrible78 wrote:How is that worse?Danger Zone wrote:Apparently only a 1L SA, so even worsejd20132013 wrote:wait meph is a SA? i thought he was an associate

+1 absolutely no one at my 1L firm knew, or cared, that I was a 1L. Corrected them many times around the end of the summerelterrible78 wrote:I mean, maybe this is true. The Dechert bashing was an improvement on a lot of the earlier stuff. I've found this thread to be easily the worst in the history of TLS.Nelson wrote:How did this thread go from a little fun bashing Dechert to this shit show?

Same, but Tiago is generally pretty patient with retards, so I think I'm gonna respect his opinion on this one.Nelson wrote:I guess as an occasional reader I haven't noticed.Tiago Splitter wrote:The Dechert bashing was an improvement on a lot of the earlier stuff. I think I searched your posts for firm or associate or something and posted whatever sounded the most douchey without giving it any thought, but your bug out has been thoroughly enjoyable.

The key is, apparently, to start young and to have boots with straps.2014 wrote:Damn I'd kill to be as valuable to my firm as meph was to his

So you've "already accepted your 2L SA offer." Does that mean offer to return as a 2L or full time post grad?Regulus wrote:Oh come on, you can't delete a great post like that.mephistopheles wrote:

You guys ought to stop piling on. I get it, it's TLS, that's what we do, but this entire thing is absurd. I'm also a 1L, and my firm extended my summer by seven weeks, precisely because they were billing enough of my hours to clients to justify it. So Meph is right. When the partners told me this, they also told me that they do not bill the overwhelming majority of SA hours because clients would never stand for it. So the rest of you are right.LRGhost wrote:Models and bottles in England for meph, apparently.
But, you know, if you all just have to back-and-forth this bullshit, by all means...
