Sorry. But that's only OCI. Massmail, especially to NYC and smaller markets, and if you can, go transactional. A lot of people I know got BigLaw through the massmail route last year. Just keep going and try pacing yourself. Best of luck.Anonymous User wrote:Aaaand.... that's a wrap. Struck out.

These are 2nd round offers (after first rounders decline). Still, sloppy seconds pay the same $160K.Anonymous User wrote:^Same situation for Winston DC, over a month. Turned down if anyone is still waiting.

Only as toilet paper. Were you among those targeting only Chi with Lit? If so, start blasting everywhere else, including small er firms in NYC. and midlaw in secondary markets. There's more love there even for us with below-median PGA's.Anonymous User wrote:Just got rejected by my final two firms.

3.5+ GPA and struck out. Had to be the bidding or else placed all OCI eggs in Chi basket. No love in chilly Chi for 3.5'sAnonymous User wrote:Both semesters? That's brutal... SorryAnonymous User wrote:Dean's List ain't mean nothing.

Did you consult very many people on that strategy? If so, you received terrible advice. Not too late to find something in Chicago at smaller firms.Anonymous User wrote:3.5+ GPA and struck out. May have been terrible advice, but have deep roots here (3+ generations). Didn't want ot leave, especially not NYC. At least I didn't rack up too much debt here, so I can afford to go to small firms.homestyle28 wrote:Did you consult very many people on that strategy? If so, you received terrible advice. Out of curiosity, have you guys been sending nalp reimbursements to Chicago firms? Basically, just asking to be reimubursed for cab fare to and from the interview? I mean, I guess it doesn't really matter unless you're planning to work for that firm.

so i only did cabs in chicago when it was raining (which was twice). Within minutes of receiving dings from these firms I sent in my reimbursement. Was mildly satisfying.Anonymous User wrote:Out of curiosity, have you guys been sending nalp reimbursements to Chicago firms? Definitely get reimbursed for cabs. It's normal NALP stuff and HR will take care of it without blinking.Anonymous User wrote:Out of curiosity, have you guys been sending nalp reimbursements to Chicago firms? That's a little extreme. In the entire process, they probably blinked at least once IMHOMicdiddy wrote:Definitely get reimbursed for cabs. My mom drove me to a few cb's. But I billed based on what the cab ride would have cost. It's only fair because my mom can be expected to work for free. I got the offer anyway.zugzwanger wrote:That's a little extreme. In the entire process, they probably blinked at least once IMHOMicdiddy wrote:Definitely get reimbursed for cabs. Unless the cab fare was less than the mileage costs @ $0.56/mi, not only was your expense claim not "fair", it was expense account fraud, plain and simple. Not a recommended way to start your legal career. I assume that you have not taken ethics yet? If you happen to be in that class now, be sure to raise this idea and wait for the response. My mom drove me to a few cb's. But I billed based on what the cab ride would have cost. I guess you don't see the humor in this? It was a joke, plain and sumple.
