I'll hold onto hope as long as no ding goes through, though.

Can confirm this. Also, have heard from: Hogan DC, O'Melveny DC, WilmerHale DC, Ropes DC, Wiley DC. No word from Gibson DC?Anonymous User wrote:at least some Steptoe DC CBs have gone outAnonymous User wrote:Have callbacks for Steptoe DC gone out?Anonymous User wrote:dinged by Steptoe DC by email a few hours ago.

I know at least some Gibson DC callbacks went out. They went out pretty quickly after the interviews, within a day or two.Anonymous User wrote:Can confirm this. Different poster but same situation. I have 4 preselect interviews left and 3 lottery interviews. Thoughts appreciated.Julio_El_Chavo wrote:How many more screening interviews do you have?

I hope you have already started a large mass-mail campaign. Did you sign up for any other job fairs? Do you have any CBs scheduled? Have you gone on any CBs yet? If you only have 4 preselects and no CBs from previous interviews, I'd say your chances of landing something are below 50%.Anonymous User wrote:Different poster but same situation. Re: UVa OGI 2011 thread
Some of those preselects are through job fairs (I've already been to 2 job fairs already). I've been mass mailing for a while. Frankly many of the secondary markets where I have ties already send interviewers to OGI (I'm from the South). I seriously doubt mass mailing DC and NYC firms will do me any good. I can search out what firms from the South I haven't applied to yet and see how that goes.Julio_El_Chavo wrote:I hope you have already started a large mass-mail campaign. You should probably be doing mass mail ASAP, but don't lose hope on the already completed screening interviews. Secondary markets (from my experience) tend to be much slower on inviting to callbacks --- sometimes can be as long as 1-2 weeks. For example, I have gotten CBs from some of the NY / DC firms listed in this thread but have heard NOTHING from the large amount of secondary markets (I have ties) that I interviewed with last week. I won't be worried about those until Friday (and even then only the ones that I interviewed with last week).Anonymous User wrote:Different poster but same situation. Yeah, I also think alot of secondary market callbacks just haven't gone out yet, but will be out by end of the weekAnonymous User wrote:You should probably be doing mass mail ASAP, but don't lose hope on the already completed screening interviews. You guys need to stop freaking out. Most of my callbacks came a week or more after my screening interview. Between vacations/real work/general slowness, these things take time.

I so dearly hope you're right... I think TLS is an amazing resource but I think people here are a bit quick to jump the "if you don't do your callback in august you have no chance" line. I am still waiting to hear on seven screeners from early last week so I am really hoping silence does not = ding.showNprove wrote:You guys need to stop freaking out. Re: UVa OGI 2011 thread
In terms of scheduling callbacks, at what point does it start negatively impacting you? I know early September is standard, but if we get into late September dates do those have less chance of turning into offers?
I'm a bit worried because I've scheduled some early CB's with some firms but I have some of my dream firms later in the month since I couldn't get in earlier based on their schedule.
Any ideas or thoughts?

Re: UVa OGI 2011 thread
Earlier is always better, but the impact of the late callback is almost impossible to quantify, as it depends on the number of callback interviews, the number of SA positions, and when the firm will start making offers.Anonymous User wrote:In terms of scheduling callbacks, at what point does it start negatively impacting you? Original anon here. I've had 10 screeners so far. No dings, but no CBs either. I have 11 more (all preselect or alternate).Anonymous User wrote:for real?Julio_El_Chavo wrote:Worry.Anonymous User wrote:Still sitting on 0 CBs from secondary markets. Should I be worried? Re: UVa OGI 2011 thread
I never said anyone had "no chance." I'm just saying that with 4 preselects left and a history of not getting CBs, you probably have less than a 50% chance of landing something. NOT a 0% chance.Anonymous User wrote:I so dearly hope you're right... I think you'll probably be fine with that many preselects/alternates left. Unless you're a terrible interviewer, some of your screeners from last week will turn into CBs.Anonymous User wrote:Original anon here. I've had 10 screeners so far. No dings, but no CBs either.
