Re: Summer Associate Class of 2015
A partner here just used the term "tar baby" in the hallway loud enough to be heard 50 feet away.

You'll feel better, the partner will be confused to the point that he won't hold anything against you, and you can both go about your day.

They'll at least pay you while you keep working during the year, right? Hope they come through for you.

Yeah. It can go on the resume (though not as obviously as a full time offer) as just continued employment. Hopefully someone gives a shit . . .Desert Fox wrote:Yea I think it's a huge deal that they are still paying him as clerk. It clears up any "is this just a no offer" worries. Yeah not such a bad deal. Pocket some money until about March when you let them know you've accepted a full time offer elsewhere.Desert Fox wrote:Yea I think it's a huge deal that they are still paying him as clerk. Sorry dude. For what it's worth, I think it's clear they like you--otherwise, they wouldn't have offered you the option of continuing to work for pay during the school year.flawschoolkid wrote:Preface: at a satelite office. I know that you were already thinking about looking elsewhere for employment. But if your other options don't pan out, I honestly think you have reason to be optimistic about your future at your summer firm. Good luck.

Related Sidenote: Do firms actually call you if you get no offered, or just send a letter? I'm curious... I mean, if it happens to me, then the universe has a sick and twisted sense of humor (lol), but I've never seen anyone state how they got no offered. I figured a call would be awkward, but idk.

Have raises ever been announced at these end of summer benefits meetings? I know the original 160 movement came in January, but it seems the biggest recruiting advantage would be to announce it right before oci...
