He was a mega douche, and I'm sure Sidley made the decision they did with good reason, but low key almost feel bad for this dude. Not sure what happened with JW. He deleted his tiktok weeks ago. Recently deleted instagram too.

Oh wow. I wonder if he was removed from video because he was removed from the class or if the firm is just trying to keep it quiet to avoid some apparently very angry people.
Also, sorry, does anyone actually know what this guy supposedly did? That's a pretty tough result to lose a Sidley offer (and potentially the JW offer too, I guess).

Where did the Sidley Chi rumor come from? FMU his offer was at the Sidley Dallas office, and this is the offer that was rescinded.

Nope. Go to school with him. He's told several people he was going to Sidley Chi. Have a friend going to Sidley Chi and he was on their incoming summer list for the Chicago office.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 12:47 amWhere did the Sidley Chi rumor come from? I have heard the same. My friends there said that he was briefly part of the summer class but didn’t know any details.

Curious. Anyone know where this guy is after being ousted from Sidley and Jackson Walker?

I realize this is the internet, and never going to happen, but maybe we should let this guy have some privacy. I certainly hope he was terminated on more than random internet accusations, but as none of us know the story (and given the current climate around accusations) maybe we just let it go.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 6:54 pmCurious. I already called out the nasty behavior in this thread. They told me they’re just discussing/gossiping, that I must be the TikTok guy, and also that any criticism of their behavior is a “FedSoc Grievance Culture War.” Which is all pretty par for the course for the class of people who attend law school these days.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 12:00 pmYeah, I was wondering how this thread doesn’t violate any mod rules? Says the poster who dissed someone’s post purely because they were an LLM.Res Ipsa Loquitter wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 12:08 pmI already called out the nasty behavior in this thread. Not cool to look down on LLMs. But it is very nasty for folks to treat this guy’s life like it’s a tabloidnixy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 3:41 pmSays the poster who dissed someone’s post purely because they were an LLM.Res Ipsa Loquitter wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 12:08 pmI already called out the nasty behavior in this thread. At least I’m capable of growth. I apologized to the LLM and stopped making fun of him. People are still dancing on the TikTok dude’s grave, though.nixy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 3:41 pmSays the poster who dissed someone’s post purely because they were an LLM.Res Ipsa Loquitter wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 12:08 pmI already called out the nasty behavior in this thread. Re: Any truth to the rumor Sidley (Chi) rescinded a popular tiktoker's summer offer?
Some of it is kind of ghoulish. But I suspect at heart people wonder out of anxiety - what happens to someone in such a situation? What kind of behavior is going to screw you over, or for how long? Did he get unfairly canceled or did this process uncover something somewhere along the line that hadn’t come up before? I still think wanting to know what happened to him doesn’t have to be about wishing ill on him - a lot of people are on social media and probably wonder if it could backfire on them. If it could happen to him, could it happen to someone else? How to avoid it and how much would it fuck up your life?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 4:24 pmNot cool to look down on LLMs. But it’s true that unless someone points to something else public there’s not going to be any way to verify anything here, so I agree that letting it go is probably best.
(Though there’s also a long history of discussing stuff like this - no one seemed upset by discussing aquagirl or such.)

Re: Any truth to the rumor Sidley (Chi) rescinded a popular tiktoker's summer offer?
Guys, I am just going to say it: I really don't think that two major law firms would take the fairly unusual step of revoking a summer's offer based on "internet rumors," so this seems to be an indication that there is more to the story. Especially considering the fact that Jackson Walker did it after he had already started there, and no one will ever accuse JW of being overly "woke."
The "FedSoc Grievance Festival" comment was probably a cheap shot, but it does seem like some of TikTok guy's defenders are railing against strawman versions of Sidley and JW who rushed to pull this guy's offer based solely on internet comments. Something tells me that wasn't the case.

This. Also this thread has been mostly very respectful. No one has outed this individual by their social media handles or by their name. The initial speculation about him having lost his offer turned out to be true. How is wanting to know what happened to this person (re: job prospects) any different than the curiosity people on this board used to demonstrate when Above the Law wrote a story about a summer being no-offered? As for Res' comment about "growth,"Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 6:17 pmGuys, I am just going to say it: I really don't think that two major law firms would take the fairly unusual step of revoking a summer's offer based on "internet rumors," so this seems to be an indication that there is more to the story. edit: Anonymous because I go to this individual's school and have made previous, more revealing posts in this thread, with similar language.

Continuing to beat the dead horse of the LLM comments is a “whatabout” with no plausible purpose other than to deflect from your anonymous, terrible behavior on this threadAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 12:29 amThis.
