I haven't heard - but not sure I got a callback! AP is in CA, so it would still be rather early.

Real Q: do people think firms are being more restrained in offering CBs this year? It's possible I just really suck, but I feel like the pandemic must be having some effect...

Re: HLS EIP 2021
Seems like despite what OCS said, the pandemic has made this a very tough year for hiring.
My interviews seem fine (can't be certain, though) & I have 2Ps, the rest Hs and DSes. And I'm really not doing well callback-wise.

Re: HLS EIP 2021
A couple of NY hiring partners I talked with in Fall said they will be really digging into people's answers for "why big law/practice" and "why our firm" because they don't have 1L grades to serve as differentiating factor between candidates.
That's what I've been doing and I'm doing pretty well despite being below median (just 2H, rest Ps). 10 callbacks in NYC, including 3 in V10. Obviously just one data point but I would definitely flesh this out for remaining interviews. Good luck!!

Hey, congrats on the grades! How many callbacks did you get? It seems OCS also screwed everyone by saying they will get an average of 6-8 callbacks and I don't think that's gonna be true for anyone with grades lower than yours.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:17 amSeems like despite what OCS said, the pandemic has made this a very tough year for hiring.

Re: HLS EIP 2021
I know people with worse grades who got 6+ Callbacks. I think it’s very firm/practice area dependent, clearly some firms and some practice areas are just not hiring as much.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:52 amHey, congrats on the grades! I also think secondary cities and especially satellite offices are difficult this year. For example, i got wlrk callback but no callback from like jones day and dla piper in (non DC/Cali) secondary markets (and all my interviews were good). Maybe this is normal , but compared to the statistics they gave I would bet secondary market hiring will be substantially down.

What's the practice area you were focusing on?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 12:18 pmI know people with worse grades who got 6+ Callbacks. I think it’s very firm/practice area dependent, clearly some firms and some practice areas are just not hiring as much.

Re: HLS EIP 2021
I can't tell for everyone, but I do know some people who are doing pretty ok (the average 6-8 CBs thing) including myself, and I have below median grades by the way. I do think that interviews really mattered this year, even more so than prior years.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:08 amReal Q: do people think firms are being more restrained in offering CBs this year? They should take that range off the website. OCS has told me that the median is much lower -- more like 3 or 4.
I had 2 CBs, but I just received another!
