With Cadwalader news out, any prediction on TIP results? Also, any Big4 news on salary cut?

Based on the figures I am aware of on M&A and Intl, there are no salary cuts.

I'm starting in NYC with a Big4 Intl group in September and I haven't been made aware of any pay cuts.

Same. Is 125k salary and 15k signing bonus what most people are getting offered in Big4 NYC? Has anyone tried negotiating?

I got my offer last year after summering with the firm and was offered 125k plus 10k llm. I tried to get the 10k pushed up (I have a year of experience in a legal tax role) but they wouldn't budge. I think your offer sounds in keeping, or above, average. What group are you in?

Same salary but 10K bonus and 5K bar passage. Sounds like the norm so didn't negotiate under the current situation.

I just attempted to negotiate lol. There was no movement on the salary, but there was an additional $5,000 for bar passage (I already passed the bar and they still offered it). Salary is strictly "non-negotiable."

So it comes out to $125k salary, $15k signing bonus, and $5k bar passage. This is for international tax group.

I hope this information is helpful.

Hard to say. Big 4 seems like they are still hiring. My law firm callbacks have been slow to respond/unresponsive. Damn coronavirus ruining my future plans, man.

Hi Everyone,

I went through TARE this year and I wanted to ask if a majority of the candidates in TIP have jobs already. The process has been slow for us due to COVID and I wanted yall's input, particularly regarding Big 4 Regional/National recruitment. Thanks in advance!

Got the same offer for SF office so it doesn’t seem like the salary at big 4 has been affected much.

Hey. From my experience, big 4 is still hiring. I had my offer sent during the pandemic and the firm said that the pandemic will not affect our position but possibly our start date. However, I had a callback with another Big 4 and did my interview with them ... radio silence. Law firms are radio silence too :/

I heard that Deloitte rescinded an offer so I would accept ASAP if you get an offer

Was it COVID related? Or something else?

Do you know if it was rescinded before or after acceptance?

About Deloitte, I know that they have put on hold on a couple candidates because of hiring freeze (before giving them offers).

Both a friend of mine and I were interviewed by Deloitte before the outbreak of Covid-19. Callbacks for two different practice groups. Then the hiring was temporarily freezed before we were given an offer. They told us to wait until the situation improves. In the whole process, its HRs were very genuine and responsive. But there was just too much uncertainty now.

Congrats on you offer! Our experiences are similar with Big 4, though I have heard at least one of them has a hiring freeze. Best of luck with the process.

My Big4 informed us that we might have to virtually onboard and start dates might be updated. No firm plans as of yet.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
