Is there any way we can access our bid lists from last year? If so, I'd be happy to post how some of my DC bids turned out in terms of getting a screener.

Any thoughts on bidding DC with 1 H? Planning to bid less selective firms and use 15 bids on a back-up market but I was still wondering if it's basically hopeless

for cravath, i know you're supposed to bring a UG transcript, but how bad is it if you have <<25%ile UGPA? i have top 1/3 1L grades and am a URM with pretty softs/good interviewing skills. will they care if my UG grades were actual shit? are there any firms that look at UG transcripts that will care?

Do you mean <25% for your undergrad institution, or for HLS? If you mean HLS, I cannot imagine that a 3.5 GPA would rule out from Cravath a top 1/3 URM. But even if it would, you are in great position and there are ten comparable firms that are right in your cross hairs.

2 H is around median, and from what I've heard from talking to OCS and others, this list looks great. I would suggest adding Skadden; they have a large class size and are known for looking beyond grades. You don't need to mail anyone before EIP; you have a good mix of firms in this list.

I don't want to mislead you, though. Does anyone know if he/she listed any firms that are extremely grade conscious and that, with 2 Hs, he/she would have trouble with?

Boies lit is super grade selective. Also, I think that for 2H you should have more firms like Kramer Levin, Stroock, etc.
I know nothing about Fitzpatrick Cella, except that telenovelas have less drama. Search ATL.

Agreed. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe you should remove Jones Day unless you plan on bidding them high? From last year's stats, few people get interviews...and their callback rate isn't that great either.

Anyone have experience with Denver? I have ties to the area and good grades (like 7-8H). Thanks.

Funny story: I once sent out an application and they specifically asked for GPA on resume. I explained that Harvard doesn't calculate GPA and discourages its use and they said send it anyway. So I calculated it myself and then realized a little later that I had been off by like .07 too high. I immediately sent them a correction. I never heard from them again.

Looking to do litigation in NYC, and I'd say above-average interviewing skills - OCS mock interviewer loved me, said I really didn't have anything I needed to change. Anyhow, any thoughts on what my options are for potentially grabbing a T25 NY offer? OCS seemed to think my prospects were actually pretty good, but I'm hesitant to believe them.

EDIT*: Adding my tentative bid list for critique (All NYC offices)

To this anon: I'm curious what OCS told you about your chances, in more detail. Do a lot of HLS people with 1 H get a V25 offer if they want it, in NYC? What would your chances be at a V10?

It seems like your list might be a bit too ambitious but if OCS said you are good then I'm sure they're right!

Adding my bid list to the thread. 5 Ps, 4Hs, and a DS. I'm interested in DC, especially regulation. I added some NY firms just in case the DC thing doesn't work. Is this list missing any of the major regulatory law firms? Also, how is my bid order? I'm a bit unclear how I should be ranking the firms, so any feedback on that would be very appreciated.

I think I saw a note on Symplicity that Patton Boggs backed out of EIP

(Even if they were still attending that would be the last place I would bid lol)

A few thoughts from someone who bid DC last year with similar interests/grades:

1. You probably don't have a real shot at W&C with your grades, and they don't do regulatory work if that's what you're really interested in. I'd delete them. Also get rid of Patton Boggs if they're even coming to EIP, that firm is toxic even post merger. Probably not worth it to have Debevoise, dla piper, and White & Case DC on the list -- their summer programs are tiny and I don't think they do much regulatory work.

2. You're missing a few big DC firms, most notably Hogan and Jones Day. Consider adding them. Also Skadden, Sidley, and King & Spalding. A few others to think about are Morgan Lewis, McDermott, K&L Gates, and Venable.

3. You have Covington DC listed twice.

Hope any of that helps.

Hi everyone. Would love any critiques on this list. IT IS NOT YET IN ORDER. I will be ordering it based (roughly) on bid-interview conversion rates.

K-JD, Ivy undergrad, no ties. All in on New York. 1 H and 9 P's (H was in mushy elective).

Interested in (and resume speaks to) litigation. I feel very comfortable interviewing, and I think I have a good narrative about my 1L summer job (at a small firm).

Same happened to me until I filled out the summer 2014 employment evaluation, even though it says that's not required for public sector jobs. After I finished that I could access the oci tab again.

I'm a below-average interviewer with below-average softs but have above average grades (4 H's, 1 DS, 5 P's). I'm trying to find safeties, but it's tough figuring out whether the lower class sizes in lower-ranked firms would really give me a better chance than the larger class sizes of higher ranked firms. Does anyone know which firms really base their decisions heavily on grades?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
