Has anyone heard from Chadbourne, McDermott, O'Melveny, Cahill or King & Spalding?

People have posted as having received both call backs and dings from multiple firms that I have interviewed with when I haven't heard anything from them one way or the other. Does this mean I'm on some sort of wait list? What do you guys think this means?

If I didn't receive a call, does that mean I am likely dinged?

dpw is definitely done, as the reception was held tonight for all nyc callbacks. i posted earlier...sidley went out around noon, quinn right before noon.

Why oh why do people insist on saying that they were "dinged?"

Seriously. What is this word? It makes no sense. It actually sounds kind of pleasant. Who DOESN'T like a good ding now and then? Things that "ding" include:

Ice cream trucks
Christmas bells
Slot machines that are spitting out money

Law students do not get dinged. They get rejected. Please stop using this word. In fact, please stop using ALL obnoxious law school slang. I 'd be willing to bet that using the word "dinged" actually increases your chances of getting dinged. I mean - rejected. Sorry.

Oh also I have a Wachtell callback. I am in the top .05% and was invited to Secret OCI. It is held at the Gansevoort.

Kidding!

OR AM I?

Kind of funny that you would say the word dinged makes it more likely I'd get rejected. I actually think that your abrasive personality that shines through on this board is what is more likely to get you "dinged." People like you who are obviously quite the genius and love hearing it too, end up nowhere in life. You will continue to write on this board how the best of firms are calling you back and you are highly sought after. However, in the court of public opinion you are clearly losing. I do not know you. However, I already cannot stand you. You sound like a total a$$ hole.

I'm in the same position. I know for a fact people have received call backs and rejection emails from firms I interviewed with last week, but I haven't heard a word. No clue what it means!

I do not know you either. However, I already think you are pleasant and articulate. I appreciate your position and the vigor with which you defend your use of the word "dinged." Best wishes for a successful OCI. No matter which way it breaks for you, being at Fordham is a great opportunity that many aspiring law students across the country would be delighted to have. Try not to let "total a$$hole(s)" get you down.

ps

There is not really a Secret OCI. Wachtell does not conduct interviews at Fordham, and I have not yet received any callbacks. I was, in fact, kidding.

Has anyone else received a callback from Sullivan & Cromwell? I received the callback yesterday morning and the interviewer told me that I'd be receiving a scheduling email for the callback. However, I have yet to receive the email and I really want to schedule my CB quickly so that I don't wind up with a date in mid september. Have you received your email? Should I call the scheduling number on the handout they gave at the hospitality table?

It says specifically "After you receive your email, you may call XXX at XXX", so I'm worried that I would come off like a jerk calling before I receive the email.
