Re: 2011 GW OCI Thread
Quoted anon here, and they may very well not have! I can't think of a reason why they would have asked for your transcript if they had already made their decision. Maybe they do decisions in waves or something, who knows. Or maybe they do it office-by-office, and D.C. takes longer since it's a smaller office. All we can really do is speculate and keep the faith, I guess.Anonymous User wrote:Odd. I received an email yesterday from their national recruiter asking for my unofficial transcript. Someone who was in the hotel during the earthquake has to post what happened, I didn't have anything today but am SO curious . . . I probably would have started screaming in the middle of my interview and immediately been dinged for cowardice.

Any movement from Kaye Scholer DC? Supposedly they were planning on getting back to us about a week after the interviews.

Be sure to tell them about how good their apprenticeship model or whatever they're calling is. I didn't even know it existed until after my callback last year. Weird people over there though. And a stupid first year program where they end up paying you like 105k during the first year.Anonymous User wrote:CB Drinker Biddle from Philly Regional

Re: 2011 GW OCI Thread
When do we start assuming dings from last Tuesday and Wednesday's interviews? No news so far on TLS re: callbacks from so many of those early firms. I am still waiting to hear from seven of them. Assume ding, or are some DC firms just really slow?
I have trouble with accepting that they are just slow since my callbacks so far have come very quickly on the heels of my interviews.

Yup, made sure to talk about that during the initial screener.Anonymous User wrote:Be sure to tell them about how good their apprenticeship model or whatever they're calling is.
This sounds weird. Anymore info on that? Definitely sounds like a dealbreaker.KamaalTheAbstract wrote: And a stupid first year program where they end up paying you like 105k during the first year.

Something along the lines that they tout you have reduced billing requirements so you can take in your surroundings or some shit. But it also means you get paid less. I forget exactly what it is. Google search it and I'm sure something will come up. It definitely was a dealbreaker. I don't really trust firms that moved away from their traditional models during the recession in general.Anonymous User wrote:Yup, made sure to talk about that during the initial screener.Anonymous User wrote:Be sure to tell them about how good their apprenticeship model or whatever they're calling is.

Here it is
Salary of $130,000 to $145,000 firmwide; salary of $105,000 during first-year associate training program.
Kind of weird wording so I don't know what it comes out to. Just know its less than what you expected.
