mass mailing about 15 LA firms (top 10% MVP) - screening interviews at 3 (2 responses within hours of sending my materials, another response 2 weeks later), still waiting on the rest. Kind of strange that they just don't skip right to the callback, but I guess that's more of an investment.

Got another interview request with a mid-size boutique firm. So now I have interviews with 1 large vault firm, 3 large non-vault firms, 1 local midsize firm, and this mid-size boutique firm that just called up. Not bad for only 30 applications. I am a CCN transfer (top 10% at T25)

About 50 mailings. Two rejections, two requests for transcript, two "we'll be receiving resumes on X date." Other than that nothing.

I was hoping to get a pile of rejection letters on a single day but it looks like it will be a trickle.

CCN top 1/3

Haven't heard from a single firm. Mass mailed about 25 with targeted materials roughly 10-14 days ago.

I wish someone would have told me that law school tests patience more than anything else.

Mass mailed 4 firms last weekend and 6 or so this weekend with semi-targeted (a line or two in each letter) cover letters. All NYC, top 10% MVP.

Haven't heard anything yet, though the address on my resume is my school address so if they snail mailed me I won't get it for a few weeks. I also addressed one of the cover letters to another firm's recruiting director, so I know that one is a ding already.

Sent about 15 targeted e-mailings to hometown firms and other firms not coming to OCI between Friday and today. Have about ten more to go. MVP transfer.

For those who got interviews, how long did it take? Should I expect it to be a week or so or will they call sooner if they have any interest?

Positive responses were anywhere from a couple hours to a few weeks for me. The ones that came in weeks after my initial e-mail were unprompted by a follow-up from me--they just showed up out of the blue.

Anywhere from one to four weeks lag time here. I harass my mailing firms with persistency though.

The ding train is picking up steam this week. Freshfields, Chadbourne and Hughes Hubbard today.

Anybody else do an interview with Cahill yet? It looks like they bring out the big guns for these pre-OCI interviews (multiple partners, chair of hiring committee, etc.).

I have one scheduled for a bit later. Would you mind reporting back after the interview on how it went overall?
