Did all of my cbs and no offers at the moment. Last week I felt like I was dangling off a cliff, holding on with one hand. Now I feel like I'm hanging on with 3 fingers.

If we get an offer via missed phone call and want to wait until we hear back from all firms should we call back or just wait?
First offer from Dechert today. CB Tuesday.

I had a callback the week of 08/10, right after EIP, from a (non-NY) firm and haven't heard anything since then. Is it acceptable to call recruiting at this point and ask if they have any updates?

Re: Columbia EIP 2015
IMO, you can call or email to tell them you have an offer from another firm that will expire at a certain date, but it would not be helpful to ask for updates.Anonymous User wrote:I had a callback the week of 08/10, right after EIP, from a (non-NY) firm and haven't heard anything since then. There is. It was in another thread. Someone tried to bluff, they were called out by the firm and were removed from consideration as a result.mylifeis24 wrote:Sounds like there's a story here...TheoO wrote:You should only and absolutely only do this if its trueAnonymous User wrote:IMO, you can call or email to tell them you have an offer from another firm that will expire at a certain date, but it would not be helpful to ask for updates.Anonymous User wrote:I had a callback the week of 08/10, right after EIP, from a (non-NY) firm and haven't heard anything since then. <-- Anon above who recommending contacting firm to let them know about other offer. Yes, obviously only do this if you do in fact have another offer. Do not lie.TheoO wrote:There is. Just to reiterate. ONLY start to worry if 6+ business days have passed since your CB.Anonymous User wrote:To above anon, most likely it's a ding. [stupid reply on 8/28]
Firms meet weekly, so if you came in the day they meet or later that week, you will not hear until they meet again. 2 days is not a ding indicator for 99.99% of firms and people advising otherwise either don't know what the hell they're talking about or are trying to psych you out.
