asking for a cb seems like a bad ideaAnonymous User wrote:If one is already in a secondary market where a firm who has neither accepted nor rejected you at this point is, is it ok to email recruiting saying can I come in and meet with some attorneys (i.e., can I have a CB) or just take their silence to you (and CBs of other people) as an implicit rejection?Anonymous User wrote:None. Haven't heard anything from most of my Mon/Tues interviews, and also one from Friday (all NY). Is everyone else in a similar boat?
The Thurs/Fri ones generally got back to me really fast, whether it was a ding or cb, but now it's radio silence.

Kirkland offer following callback yesterday afternoon. For anyone going in for a CB, they told me a week for turn-around, and the message seemed to indicate they meet as a committee either Wednesday evenings or Thursday mornings, but it could be that they just make determinations the day of.

Congrats on the offer! Speaking of Kirkland, does anyone know the details of tonight's reception there? I thought the recruiter mentioned something about this, but I could be wrong.Anonymous User wrote:Kirkland offer following callback yesterday afternoon. I'm still waiting to hear one way or the other from most firms. I've only gotten responses from 5 (of 22) firms so far. I'm going back and forth between thinking it's good that I haven't gotten rejected and bad that I haven't gotten callbacks. I'm leaning toward the later. My guess is that it means I'm on the bubble for a bunch of firms and they're waiting to see how callbacks and NYU's OCI interviews go.Anonymous User wrote:I actually still haven't heard back from a few Thurs/Fri.Anonymous User wrote:Haven't heard anything from most of my Mon/Tues interviews, and also one from Friday (all NY). While I'm posting, has anyone heard from Ropes and Gray JL? I had high hopes for that one.

Got email from Paul Hastings. Thought it was a ding. But turned out its a link to employee self-identification form. Has anyone else gotten this?

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
I got one too. I've gotten 2 or 3 others as well. I've been filling them out ASAP. I don't think it makes a difference one way or another, but I'm kind of hoping that someone will notice the quick turn around and interpret it as a sign of strong interest (that's probably wishful thinking though).Anonymous User wrote:Got email from Paul Hastings. Did anybody else get a Paul Hastings URM survey? Is that being sent to everyone who got a screener or can I use it as fuel for hopes of a callback?

Did OCS tell us to write thank you notes after a callback?

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
Usually not; if so, should only be for people you made a real connection with that you want to keep the connection strong. If you send one, be very very careful because you can easily hurt yourself with a typo or misaddress but there isn't much to gain. No one gets an offer for writing a thank you.Anonymous User wrote:Did OCS tell us to write thank you notes after a callback?

What surprised me is that at some callbacks, the interviewers won't have seen your transcript/grades. It'll be purely a "fit" interview (this explains some of the data on Honors report). Also, unlike at a screener, some interviewers will have BARELY looked at your resume. Just something worth knowing.

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
Just so ppl don't get too comfortable, at 2 of my callbacks a total of 5 interviewers had my transcript and had highlighted a couple grades, some good some bad. Only a couple asked about them ("So, it looks like you don't know who owns what."), but the tone was more joking and a simple answer seemed to dispel their interest in them. I think the assumption at a callback is that, for whatever reason (great fit, diverse, interesting background, etc), your grades have been given the okay and you can be hired. However, still be ready to explain your transcript. Also, all of my interviewers knew my resume very well.Anonymous User wrote:What surprised me is that at some callbacks, the interviewers won't have seen your transcript/grades.
