It was very well attended last year. Good chance to talk to associates and partners before your callback.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know what to expect from tonight's cravath cocktail party? How many people will be there ?

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
Different anon here. There was just one AC, it was AC-SC in the morning and AC-JR in the afternoon. I'm holding out hope that the latter group of interviewees are still in the running, but pretty doubtful to be honest.Anonymous User wrote:I saw an AC above, were there two ACs? Was this who you actually interviewed with, or were scheduled to interview with? I was scheduled for PG but ended up interviewing with someone different. Thanks!Anonymous User wrote:Paul Hastings PG

Will firms always let you know about a callback lunch beforehand, so you can factor that in timewise, or do some of them spring it on you at the end of the interview?

Re: Columbia EIP 2014
I've never heard of it just springing up. If you're unsure from their communications beforehand I'd ask the recruiter if it might be an issue. But they typically give you a pretty good idea of how the day will play out before you get there.Anonymous User wrote:Will firms always let you know about a callback lunch beforehand, so you can factor that in timewise, or do some of them spring it on you at the end of the interview?

If you're interviewing in the morning, I would assume there's a lunch at the end. Although they also usually ask if you have any dietary restrictions, so that may be a strong indication.Anonymous User wrote:Will firms always let you know about a callback lunch beforehand, so you can factor that in timewise, or do some of them spring it on you at the end of the interview?

You could get away with not wearing a suit but most people wear one.Anonymous User wrote:Any ideas on dress code?Tiago Splitter wrote:It was very well attended last year. Re: Columbia EIP 2014
I have a callback this afternoon and am going directly to the cocktail reception so I will be in a suit. I will take the tie off if it's more casual thoughAnonymous User wrote:Any ideas on dress code?Tiago Splitter wrote:It was very well attended last year. Re: Columbia EIP 2014
Would it be inappropriate to go with something less boring than regular interview attire (navy suit + white shirt + conservative tie), or is it ok to be a little bolder since it isn't technically an interview?Tiago Splitter wrote:You could get away with not wearing a suit but most people wear one.Anonymous User wrote:Any ideas on dress code?Tiago Splitter wrote:It was very well attended last year. Re: Columbia EIP 2014
The general rule is to play it conservative until you have an offer in hand. Then wear whatever is appropriate. I think that applies a bit more with Cravath events since from what I hear the office is generally pretty conservative.Anonymous User wrote: Would it be inappropriate to go with something less boring than regular interview attire (navy suit + white shirt + conservative tie), or is it ok to be a little bolder since it isn't technically an interview?
Would you rather stand out for what you're wearing or have people just remember your conversation than your suit?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
