Any SAs at firms in NYC that mentioned they were seeking add'l 2015 grads? At T-6, summered at a firm, received an offer, but don't think it has the best long term potential. Also, significant grade increase 2L year.

Cleary is hiring 3Ls.

Pretty sure Weil will be too. The corporate groups are crazy busy right now.

Transactional side rotation (all/almost all junior associates rotate for a year and a half through the different transactional groups)

edit: all junior associates who are interested in the transactional side rotate. litigators, tax ect. do not rotate

Transactional side rotation (all/almost all junior associates rotate for a year and a half through the different transactional groups)

No. In fact, it seems that this corporate shortage among the V10-V50 is mainly in NYC/DC (which makes sense if you think about it).

My firm has a "corporate" group but it's pretty much admin.

The summers at another of my firm's offices all got offers earlier this week. While rationally I know that different offices do things differently, my lady bits are convinced this means that one of us is getting no-offered.

I'm in the last office to have offers go out as well... At least our final reviews are today!

The firm I'm at waited until after all the other offices of our firm gave offers because they were waiting for a consensus from the major shareholders to give the no-offers. Plus, I think they didn't want no-offered summers roaming our halls.

Anxiety = stoked

Ya, it was a dick post. Sorry. There's a trillion reasons why this could be the case, and only one is bad.

This wait is going to kill me. Good reviews, and I believe that a practice group requested that I be hired into the group, but this firm is as cheap as can be. Wouldn't surprise me if they cut their hiring numbers.

Overall business strategy. Extremely conservative on hiring. The firm will review all financials (for several weeks) before offers, if they predict there might not be a need in area X, you aren't hired. This is a large firm too.

Weird because they just posted on my school's symplicity (UChicago) saying they're looking for 3L associate hiring in the NYC credit/lev fin group.

Also second to Paul Weiss hiring corp in NYC. and Debevoise hiring securities lit in DC. All 3L

Are you able to at least out the market or give some idea since you're anon?

Definitely a secondary market with offices in select states. 700+ attorneys but a bit spread out. If you are worrying that this might be a major market firm, I wouldn't worry.

Kirkland NY is definitely looking for 3ls in bankruptcy and is probably looking for them in corporate. lit need not apply however
