Anonymous User wrote:Since we're in the calm before the callback storm, I'd strongly recommend people NOT use this thread (or other places online) to post where they're receiving callbacks, offers, and dings. There's an understandable desire for information, but nothing is reliable. Last year I did a callback and got an offer at a firm which called people back even after I'd finished the process. Some firms move quickly and some firms move slowly, some recruiters at the same firm will go faster than others, but everything will sort itself out in the end.

Obviously do as you see fit, and if you don't want to see it you don't have to check this thread, but I thought I'd throw that out as my two cents having gone through the process. It's just added stress nobody needs to be constantly comparing lists with one another (as is happening in many of the other schools' recruiting threads).

Good luck to everyone!
I definitely see the benefit in not driving ourselves crazy by comparing callbacks, but I do think it is useful to know in general how many firms have started to make callbacks so we can get a feel for if we're on track or not. I think my interviews have been fine, but if it turns out that half of the firms I've interviewed with have already made callback decisions and I haven't gotten a single one, that would be a signal that I need to change things up. I'd rather not be blinded by that kind of information in two weeks when I could see it coming now in time to make corrections for future interviews.

Sullivan & Cromwell has given out callbacks, as has Schulte Roth & Zabel.

This is why speculating can be bad. It varies. Some people heard during the interviews themselves they got a CB, others heard later.

Which office, and when did they inform you?

I think last year they had a dinner but it was NOT all callbacks that got invites.

I think last night was DC, tonight is NYC. And it's not for callbacks, but it's people over a certain GPA/certain interest level. So if you get invited you don't have a callback yet, but if you didn't get invited, you won't have a callback, probably.
